Anybody not wowed by color wow?

I use the color wow spray before blow drying. I never seem to notice a real difference to the frizz level. Just wondering where I’m going wrong as it gets such rave reviews. I’d love it to work as well as the ads it shows on SM.

I’ve just brought a sample sized bottle and so far not overly impressed but I’m not the best at hair drying it looked a bit better when i ran the straighteners over it though, but no where near that glossy shine

Hate it. Expensive disaster for me. As are all the Olaplex products (though I know there’s no spray in that line) Wish I could find SOMETHING that would work to de frizz my thick, coarse, wavy hair. But it’s certainly not Color Wow!!

QueenKong101 · 06/02/2024 13:38

Me! It was rubbish on my hair but the Aldi dupe fared much better. Neither last more than a day for me though.

TeenyTinyWiney · 06/02/2024 13:42

I too bought into the social media hype. Will I ever learn?

Very underwhelming. See also Il Makiage Hmm. What a waste of money that was!

Bus100bus100 · 06/02/2024 13:42

I also don't rate it. Did nothing for me. Waste of money

Bus100bus100 · 06/02/2024 13:45

also agree with olaplex too.

TeenyTinyWiney · 06/02/2024 14:21

I don't know anyone who found Olaplex beneficial! But anyone who coloured their hair was told they needed it a few years ago and many of us believed it!

Jakadaal · 06/02/2024 14:23

I just leaves my hair feeling sticky. Also unimpressed with Olaplex

Same. I got the shampoo and conditioner in a set and it was very underwhelming.

No difference whatsoever. Two friends who rave about it (one an ex-hairdresser).
Mousse creates much more volume in my fine hair than this.
I'm not someone who is influenced by influencers - and always telling my kids to beware, and that they are just modern day walking advertisements, who will sell sand to the Arabs, so bought it by accident.

Color Wow left my hair a dry and stringy mess. I really hate it.

This.

Bus100bus100 · 06/02/2024 15:05

I too didn't like the texture that Colour Wow made my hair feel

pattyparsnip · 06/02/2024 22:13

I'm no pro at blow drying , but it's the only thing I buy on repeat. Maybe it's to do with hair type .

cathyandclaire · 06/02/2024 22:15

I love this- it makes my hair smooth and swishy - also not an expert blow dryer but do straighten my hair

Gigia · 07/02/2024 09:28

It works brilliantly for me but I do have extensions not sure if that makes a difference

I think people are talking about different products. The colour wow dream coat is not supposed to give body like a mousse. It's not surprising you find a mousse gives more volume. The dream coat is to smooth and Defrizz not give volume

There is a colour wow XL volume mousse but I dint think that is what people are discussing here.

cathyandclaire · 07/02/2024 19:57

Totally agree @boopboopbidoop - the very last thing it does is add volume!

BoilingHotand50something · 07/02/2024 20:01

In an advent calendar, I got the Dreamcoat stuff you put on dry hair. It’s the best hair product I have had.

BoilingHotand50something · 07/02/2024 20:02

I mean the Colour Wow cream. I went out in the rain the other day and my hair did not frizz!

BoilingHotand50something · 07/02/2024 20:04

It’s the 1 minute transformation cream. Just looked it up.

theduchessofspork · 07/02/2024 20:09

I thought it was the weirdest thing

Try hair Botox

Petrarkanian · 07/02/2024 20:15

I love it, makes my hair so shiny and soft. I just spray it on then dry with the hairdryer, not under any tension.
I have poker straight hair if that makes a difference.

Christmasnutcracker · 07/02/2024 20:22

I have naturally frizzy hair. My hair salon recommended Colour Wow to me and I bought it. I absolutely hated it. I couldn't see a difference at all and I thought it made my hair look broken. I threw it in the bin.

I moved to K18 products (the hair repair mask was good and I then tried the oil (the oil was useless).
The K18 was ok, it just wasn't brilliant for the price.

I spoke to a hair stylist again and watched some YouTube videos about how to style my hair - particularly ByGregHill (who is - one - of Trinny's hairstylists). I don't use ByGregHill's recommended products (the reviews I read about them weren't great and didn't seem like they would suit my hair) but I watched how MUCH product he uses in his tutorials. I wasn't using a quarter of the amount he uses. I bought Colour Wow again and use a LOT of the product in my hair and blow dry it properly spending time doing it. It has made a tremendous difference to my hair. I am totally converted to it!.
