HELP!: petite maternity jeans nightmare

Bea0001InowwishIhadabettername · 21/03/2008 18:26

Make it stop!

I'm 5ft2, size 8, 17weeks with first pregnancy and just about to pop out of my favourite jeans so now desperately seeking a comfortable (and hopefully stylish) maternity-friendly replacement. Ideally they'd be in a boot cut and a dark wash. Oh, and under the ridiculous £180 price tag that exclusive designer styles attract.

I've looked everywhere from Next and Mothercare to the more upmarket Seraphine but haven't found something that ticks all my boxes. Any other suggestions? Please!

Thank-you

these?

hoxtonchick · 21/03/2008 18:31

have you tried topshop? or these or these. though i have to say i never got on with topshop maternity jeans.... but they are indigo & bootcut. hth.

hoxtonchick · 21/03/2008 18:32

oh, sorry, just noticed you wanted petite. maybe worth a try though.

fymatealltheeastereggs · 21/03/2008 18:33

or some of these to stretch your regular trousers they do need a longish top though!

fymatealltheeastereggs · 21/03/2008 18:37

mind you it may be worth paying a bit for them - I only got one pair of jeans and one denim skirt to last for the 9 months (6 months preggers and 3 months after!!!.

Personally I would buy a very few 'key' good quality items (get me the fashion guru) and wear them to death.....

I had this bonkers idea when I was preggers that I needed enough stuff to last for 2 pregnancys. Three years later I am just TTC again and am realising it has all gone out of fashion!

how about M&S maternity, do they do shorter length like they do in the regular ranges?
Next maternity also do shorter length in some of their stuff.
I got a Seraphine pair of jeans, they were fab and a dark indigo colour. I did turn them up but they were the trousers I wore the most! Not sure where they are now, someone borrowed them and didn't give back...

I had similar problems and these were fab, they were so good I kept hunting ebay for a pair the next size up. They come up small for the size so the size 8 really is a size 8 and they fit under the bump, I'm only 5' and I think I may have turned them up but I'm not 100% sure whether I just wore them a bit too long.

they don't fill your entire criteria but I really struggled to get proper size 8 trousers in jeans.

Oh thank-you! Feel like I've just received the best girly advice. I'll go online now to order several of your suggestions and then just send back the ones that don't work.

Thanks again!

Had mine from Mothercare, they will order them for you if not in store - size 8 and short leg fitted me all the way through - were about £25.
