Gold Dress Outfit to cover two events

Has anyone any ideas or seen something that would cover a friends James Bond Party and a Golden Wedding Anniversary.

I thought if I had a gold dress, it could sort of cover the Goldfinger theme. But can't be too glam, as the Anniversary event is a lunch, don't want to be too eveningy!!

thanks

How would this suit you? It is glam enough for the party and would be fine for the Anniversary do I think.

hi what size are you?

bluesky · 21/03/2008 20:12

I'm a 14, tall, need to hide tum (too much chocolate!)

patsy, I like the coast dress, it's a nice gold, not a bling gold! But I'm not keen on my shoulders! But a little shrug or something could go with that one.

Glad you like the dress, Bluesky.

Monsoon have got some great shrugs. I think you need something short like this to show off the cut of that dress.

thanks everyone, I have been online looking all over! Think it is hard to try and combine both events, as a JB evening needs to be or can be much more glitzy and glam, and then don't want to frighten my in-laws at their event!

I'm watching a few items on ebay, that might do for the JB eve.

Think I need a trip to Coast and Monsoon after the easter hols. I looked at Debenhams online, they had some possibilities.

Agree Coast and Monsoon your best bets. They both tend to have things which you could wear both day and night and yet look good in either scenario.
And yes why not look on ebay, loads of Coast and ebay bits but they often go for high prices in the end.

MummyAnnabella · 23/03/2008 10:06

what about this or this one
think either would be glam enough for bond do and daytime affair.

bluesky · 25/03/2008 15:55

thanks mummyannabella for the Next link.

i have ended up with an ebay Next gold dress for £9.99 (!) and I got a cream shrug cardy from Monsoon. With some gold high sandals from New Look.

Then come the summer I will look for a smarter dress for the Anniversary. I still like the Coast dresses. There were some gorgeous dresses in Monsoon today, it's funny how sometimes you can go in and see nothing you like at all, and today, I could have spent £500!!!

But I just can't think bare armed and summery in this weather with a nose blocked up with cold!
