The sprays are probably, as you pp, mainly water with some essential oil.

INGREDIENTS

• 1/2 cup high-proof vodka
• 1/2 cup distilled water
• 25 drops lavender essential oil
• 25 drops lemon essential oil
• 10 drops tea tree essential oil

INSTRUCTIONS
Pour the vodka into a 16-ounce spray bottle (like this), and then the essential oil(s). Shake the bottle to combine the vodka and oils. Finally, add the water and shake the bottle again.

I'd probably skip the vodka and use a few drops of surgical spirit.
