Nuxe Rêve de Miel lip balm — grainy?

I bought a pot of Nuxe Rêve de Miel lip balm (like this one) and found the texture grainy/gritty. Am I supposed to rub it in for a while for the graininess to melt away? It doesn’t quite go away for me… And is there a version that’s smoother, or another brand that you’d recommend?

I'm wondering if it got cold as this can cause honey to granulate, pop the pot in some warm water as this could help

I stopped buying it for this (and the finger = pot application, and I am by no means a germaphobe) reason. I now get O’Keefe’s lip balm and it’s amazing for v dry lips.

The first pot I had was gorgeous, really smooth, but the second pot is grainy, little white bits all over my lips. I did wonder if it was due to the cold. Even if I warm it up it won’t stay warm.

Is the one in the pic the one you've got? They have reformulated I believe. The one I have is in a brown glass pot with a brown lid and it is very smooth!

Yes I used to have the original one (OPs picture) and it was grainy but I got used to it and kind of liked it. I just purchased a new pot, which is brown like the PPs pic and that is smooth. Either way it’s the only lip balm that really treats my dry lips, and I’ve tried so many.

If you gently melt the balm and then put it in the fridge or freezer to quickly cool down again, you should find it sets smooth. I had to do this for their rose balm. I think the graininess happens in transit or storage when the balm gets warm and then cools again slowly.

Thanks so much for the replies all!

It's the one in the semitransparent pot (in photo I posted) that I've got.

There's still so much of it left, I'll try the heating/cooling tip but good to know the other formulation is smoother.

And I might try O'Keeffe's as well for keeping in my purse. Nuxe was supposed to be my nighttime bedside table lip balm.

I am a dedicated user of this product and I adore it. I have experienced the crystals and apparently they are the shea butter crystallising in it. It doesn't affect the efficacy. I just rub them in hard and they disappear into my lips.
