Best type of hair extensions for at home use

DD’s prom is this year.

She has past shoulder length hair but it’s quite fine and she’d love to go to prom with longer and thicker hair.

I’ve been saving up for all the accessories for the day and said I’ll get her some human hair extensions but which are the best type? I can’t afford to spend a fortune so don’t want to go to a hairdresser as it’ll probably run into the hundreds.

She has tried a halo type one before but found it to heavy and bulky for her fine hair. I wondered about tape ins and have looked at a few online but it looks as though they recommend using a hairdresser (trying to keep accessories price down as her dress wasn’t cheap and I’m not going all out on every single thing as it’ll bankrupt me lol).

Not sure if clip ins would be uncomfortable?

I wear hair toppers myself but have never worn extensions so have little experience of them.

Any advice?
