I'm gutted and the seller may think I'm scamming them 😩(I'm not).
I made an offer on some trainers on Vinted that was accepted. Seller sent them via second class Royal Mail with a certificate of posting (so no detailed tracking information and compensation won't cover the cost I paid if they have to claim anyway).
Royal Mail website shows they were posted on Thursday and delivered early Saturday morning via a delivery office 25 miles away (which is weird and makes no sense).
The parcel wasn't left in the porch or with neighbours. I was at home at the time and nobody knocked. Our local posties didn't leave the local delivery office until after 9am on Saturday as I checked with one when I realised it had been marked delivered Saturday morning but hadn't arrived.
I've called Royal Mail who confirmed it shows as delivered and agree it's weird that the limited tracking information states they were delivered via an office so many miles away.
Seller didn't put a return address on so no chance of them being returned to them if they were left at the wrong address.
I'm sure they think I have the trainers and I categorically don't. They claim to have called Royal Mail who said parcel was handed to resident - which is impossible as a) it wasn't and b) second class parcel tracking is very limited and doesn't record where the parcel was left, and no photo is taken by the postie as it's not a "tracked" service.
Do I have a chance of getting my money back from Vinted even though the RM website says they've been delivered?
I've been looking for these trainers for nearly two years and genuinely haven't received them but just can't prove it.
