47 Skin Care for problematic spotty skin - Anyone used it?

My teenage DS has been getting big spots on his nose and lots of red spots on his forehead.
He tried some cleanser which didn't make it worse nor improve. So ordered some 47 Skin care products...

Anyone used these? Reviews look impressive but not heard of them (until my social media obviously overheard me discussing with my DS and adverts appeared).

Has he tried a salicylic acid treatment? La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo range, Nip and Fab Teen Fix, Paula's Choice BHA salicylic acid toner should all help.
CeraVe face wash.

Nudgethatjudge · 31/01/2024 15:13

We've done La Roche and was hoping it would be helpful but it wasn't (but it didn't make it worse).

I've got the Paula's Choice BHA so if the 47Skin doesn't work, that will be the next try.

The PC has the same % of salicylic as the others, so if that hasn't worked, it might be worth seeing a GP for a benzoyl peroxide prescription.

Thank you - .that's interesting and helpful.

Hi op. Did the 47 skin make any difference? Just wondering about getting some for my teens

Tinytigertail · 19/07/2024 07:46

My DDs arrived yesterday, so following with interest and I'm happy to update on her progress with it.

Kneeslikethese · 19/07/2024 07:49

Please can anyone update who has used it. I'm thinking of trying it for my ds but it's expensive for my budget if it doesn't work.

Nudgethatjudge · 19/07/2024 13:42

Hello
The 47 Skin cleanser and serum has reduced the spots and bumps.

I can tell if he's not been using it As his skin condition worsens..

It's not cleared fully, blackheads galore! but he's not had any big angry red spots that were creating scars, just a few pimple spots on his forehead and occasionally round his nose.

It seems to last well.

Oh that’s great. Good to have a real update

Kta7 · 19/07/2024 14:47

That’s good to hear, am awaiting delivery of a £5 trial bottle they’ve just launched

Collexifon · 19/07/2024 14:49

I bought it for dd. It didn't make any difference at all, sadly.

UmberMoose · 19/07/2024 14:54

You may try with la roche posay. Here is my routine that I follow:
Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
la roche posay spf
Evening:
la roche posay moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel

impressivelycunty · 19/07/2024 14:57

Bought it for my son - made no difference whatsoever.

Are you in the UK? Just wondered where you got the tret from

liveforsummer · 19/07/2024 18:40

I bought it for dd and made not a bit of difference unfortunately.

spiderlight · 20/07/2024 16:01

My son's been using it for about ten days and it does actually seem to be helping 🤞

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 21/07/2024 06:33

If their breaking out I’d see the dr and get a prescription strength product for free because it can escalate faster than the treatments take to work.

Pogonogo · 21/07/2024 06:38

We bought it for DD and it made no difference at all.
The best thing to do is go to the GP (if you can get an appointment of course).

Yes in the uk

I’ve tried a couple of prescription products for my daughter, we get them from Boots online docs so no need to see a GP. Neither have made a massive difference and I’m very hesitant to try anything more hardcore like roaccutane.

thinking of trying the 47 skin so any updates would be v helpful thanks!

Grest · 25/07/2024 10:56

Charlottelightanddark do you mind me asking which products you have tried that didn’t work?

47 is also not bad, you may try

CharlotteLightandDark · 28/07/2024 13:48

something called acnecide which did nothing and then epiduo which worked somewhat but she doesn’t use it loads as it dries her skin out.

Stellamaris81 · 06/02/2025 18:19

How long did you use if for?. I started using them before they became so popular and it did wonders to my skin after a year I stopped and my skin never broke out again even when my period was due. I went back on the pills at 42 and broke out so I went back to 47 Skin and just like before never let me down. I am now using it for my 12 year olds breakout and it's helped. Most new routines take time to adjust to your skin. You should have given it time. My skin went from bad to better. Trust the process, everyone I have recommended too has been so happy and they had really bad acne.

spiderlight · 06/02/2025 23:20

Popping back to say that my son has now been using it for 6 months and his skin is 99% perfect. He gets the occasional couple of tiny spots but it's worked better than anything else he's tried.
