Coats for wide hips small waist

After wisdom and recommendations!

I have wide hips, but a small waist, I also have very chunky thighs and calves.

There must be somewhere out there who does coats (and also jeans) that cater for this? Help!

Coats always fit me in the chest arms etc but I can't do them up at the bottom and jeans are often too big in the waist and skin tight on legs.



I have a similar shape and frock coats work well! As they flare out from the hips they're not tight below the waist, so you can just take the size that fits your upper body. For jeans, I look for high-waisted styles - Esprit tend to fit well.

Also, Vivienne Westwood clothes are cut for this kind of figure, but of course are ££££!

Fit and Flare? Again, probably pricey but they look gorgeous, maybe worth the investment....?

Collectif Clothing would be my recommendation. Their pearl coats are lovely and great quality.

Jeans are an easy fix - I too am a pear so I buy jeans in the style I like, make sure they fit in the hips and then pay £25 to have them taken in at the waist. I did this recently with a pair of Lucy & Yak Dana mom jeans and they now fit perfectly.

As for shape, I am currently in love with barrel shaped jeans such as the River Island high waisted barrell jeans.

Curve love range from Abercrombie for jeans! The only jeans which will fit my large hips and small waist x

Lower rise jeans work as they don't go as far up your body.

Cocoon shaped coats that are not designed to be tight anywhere, wrap coats or frock coat shaped will all work for you
