Swimming coverage when you have scars

My Dd badly scalded her leg last year and it is scared. I've booked a surprise holiday where swimming is the main activity. She needs a costume because she doesn't have one so I'm trying to subtly find out what kind she'd like "just in case we go swimming in half term" and she's said she doesn't want to go swimming until the scar looks better. This holiday is her favourite place so she will want to swim in the pools. There's lots of slides and fun stuff. She's very fair and a teenager. What can I do to either cover it as best as possible? Tape? Not sure she'd get a skin match as she's more blue/ purple than anything 🤣 She wouldn't wear long shorts. We could buy once there but the choice would be very limited. I could buy a selection off Amazon and take them all and let her try on there but I don't know how to get round the scar issue. I've booked this for her mental health mainly and am now worried I'll have made things worse. I know most people won't even notice but she's so self conscious.

You've been given loads of good ideas for swimsuits, but another thought is: listen to her, and respect her wishes when she says she doesn't want to swim.

This is (maybe) what you think she should do, not what she wants to do.

Swin leggings you can get them from short to full length. My friend wears full length ones to cover her motorbike accident scar which is pretty horrific.
I wear the knee length ones because I'm fat and nobody wants to see that, its a vast improvement on swimsuits.

can you cancel the holiday? Is there enough fun stuff she can do without swimming? Don’t make her swim if she doesn’t want to you could put her off it for years!

This is her dream holiday so no way I'd cancel it. I'm taking her sibling too who talks about this place daily. No other parent or adult going, just me and the dc.
I know she wouldn't wear anything over her legs due to sensory and vanity issues but I've got some skin tape in my amazon basket to order because that was her plan for hot, sunny weather and would work in the pool although I think it will be more obvious than the scar. If get make up but her skin is so pale I don't think I'll get even close to a skin match.
We've got other activities but the pool is the main part of the holiday and what she enjoys most. I can't see that she'd sit in the accommodation by herself while we spend hours in the pool.

Thanks for all your help. I'll offer a selection of swimwear once we are there and she can choose one or not swim if that's what she prefers.
