I have found a perfect dress for anything and am very excited

Bought this in M&S today () and it is FAB - not as clingy and smart as it looks in the photo, just medium weight t shirt cotton, length just on the knee and doesn't make me look bolster-bosomed. And, best of all, kind of skims over the giant wobbly waist area, hurrah. Will be wearing with boots and cardi for a while, then flipflops for school run or tarted up a bit with heels etc if necessary.

I had to SHARE!

I like that one too but it's too fancy - my one is perfect for all occasions.

Bibi I am currently a horrifyingly untoned 12/14 with 36DDs and a very wobbly tummy and I promise you, it skims. It is a miracle dress.

but what does it do over the giant, wobbly arse area...mine, not yours
cling alarmingly? (don't want to scaring the horses) ..
or (please god) skim?

ahundredtimes · 20/03/2008 17:41

Oh it is nice - and really it does the skimming? I like the sleeves and you are right, it is dress up and downable.

Hmm. I may investigate.

turquoise · 20/03/2008 17:42

Forgot to check arse (damn, knew there'd be a catch) but it just isn't clingy material.

M&S in quite a lot of nice dresses shocker.

Where is this model standing? It looks like an airport locker room.

Anyway, that is a nice dress for anyone other than me on account of the upper arm situation situation.

ahundredtimes · 20/03/2008 17:48

Can I see the Kew one Cod?

I saw one in L.K. B but was £ and I wasn't sure about it. I also tried on a top in there which had sort shells around the top. I sort of liked it, but put it back in the end, I wasn't sure I could do the shells.

[useless]

Cotton dress with winter boots is a very good look here in Paris right now

I like this

Obviously it needs accessories.

foxinsocks · 20/03/2008 18:13

isn't the polyester material crap though? I love the last one in ahundred's link (I'd probably wear it for work with a jacket) but I'd love it even more if it was cotton . Polyester goes bloody quickly if you wear it a lot annoyingly.

Was in LKB last week. Do you mean that cardigan with the shells in the shape of flowers round the neck or the top with lots of ruffles?

ahundredtimes · 20/03/2008 18:15

Well it was this sort plain blue top, a bit of a low scoop neck with shells along the top.

I thought I liked it, but then I wasn't so sure.

Some narce shoes in there though.

foxinsocks · 20/03/2008 18:19

viry narce. Would do nicely in the summer with a naarce arse cream.

I wince at the price of them there shoes though. ALthough it is fun prancing about their store trying them on.

Oh Bugger, I hadn't realised it was viscose! It doesn't feel like it at all, really feels like t shirt cotton. I hate polyester etc, had just put back a top in Laura Ashley that looked really good on, because it was 90% viscose - and that dress is 100%!

Oh well, at 25 quid I'll just wear it till it falls apart. It definitely looks much posher in that photo than it is, it's just a nice t shirt dress really. Worst place for clinging is bra overhang at the back (have checked.) It also needs a black bra as straps show a tiny bit near the armpits.

Actually I think I had a turn in LKB. I tried on a wrap dress covered in keys - keys fgs - and it looked dreadful.

ahundredtimes · 20/03/2008 18:25

Shame Foxy, shame.
