Warm, stretchy but not scruffy trousers

Due to a health condition I am having to do leg stretching multiple times a day. My skinny jeans are not in any way suitable for everyday wear now. I've been wearing leggings but they aren't that warm and also look a bit odd with the smart jumpers I need to wear on my top half for WFH video meetings.

Does MN have the answer? An everyday pair of trousers that are (thermal?) warm, don't look like joggers and are stretchy enough to do stretching in please. Thank you for sharing your ideas.

These look better than you would think. I can’t cope with winter leggings and they make me sweat. I live in these at this time of year.

These could be ideal! We have a MW not too far away so might even be able to try them on for length.

Stretch trousers from Niche online are great, comfy, warm and fit really well as they stretch. I live in mine as look smart but are comfortable like leggings. Cheap as well at £14 a pair!

Do you have a link to which ones?

In my experience they don’t last very long and some are see through.

the winter ones are really thick and not see through at all.
Normal leggings can be see through no matter where from. I have next ones, m&s ones, seasalt ones, boden ones that are no more or less see through., and I have got a couple of pairs of the thick winter primark ones ive had for several years that are fine.

I disagree. Brand really matters when it comes to the leggings being see through. In the summer I wear Fabletics and for the rest of the year - JML Hollywood pants and neither are ever see through.

I've got two pairs of trousers from the Original Factory Shop - about £20
Not thermal, but fairly warm, loose enough that they're not quite leggings, look smart with jackets.
Stretchy cotton, quite thick - I have them in navy and black.
There was definitely a choice between short and regular, so I imagine there's a long option.

arent fabletics gym leggings?

These are the primark ones I mean. Theyre called "cosy" leggings. Honestly, theyre really good and so soft.

They have all sort of styles available these days. No longer just gym leggings 😊

TheBayLady · 28/01/2024 18:40

M&S do lovely cosy stretch jeggings £22.50, warm, comfy and in many colours.

GreenTuftyFlowers · 28/01/2024 18:59

M and S straight leg joggers don't look too much like joggers imo (they aren't gathered round the ankle). Especially when new, they are pretty much like like dark stretchy trousers. They do a more 'trousery' version which is similar in style and just as stretchy.

Apple2023 · 28/01/2024 19:31

Another vote for M&S cosy jeggings. Really warm, lots of stretch and they look nice and smart.

They do look nice but unfortunately would leave me with chilly ankles as it's 27 inch leg and I'm 36 inch. But style wise they're good.

Sahara have heavy jersey trousers, definitely a trouser not leggings. They are quite pricey but usually worth it.

Festivalmitch · 07/02/2024 08:54

A 3rd vote for açai. Their thermal lined stretchy water resistant skinnies are amazing!! They also do dungarees amongst other things that will be comfy warm and stretchy

IfIHadAHeart · 07/02/2024 15:07

Another Açai vote. They are brilliant

TheMildManneredMilitant · 08/02/2024 08:57

Another vote for Acai thermal trousers. They do about four different leg lengths too.

MrsFrisbyMouse · 08/02/2024 09:05

Non cuffed fleece lined joggers?

inappropriateportioncontrol · 08/02/2024 10:02

Look on Uniqlo.
