You will go to the ball cinderella. What size are you? What are your best bits? What do you want to hide? What colour do you like?

angiebaby78 · 19/03/2008 20:23

Well about a 14 ish depending on shop ( dont you just hate that) not sure on best bits. I want to hide jelly belly ( after 3 dcs) so nothing too tight. I am also really pale and dont do tanning or even spray tan . I thnk reds and dark pinks suit me ?? (who am i kidding ) way out of my comfort zone of jeans and comfy (practical) tops.

How much do you have?

MrsBadger · 19/03/2008 20:35

do you have anything useful (shoes, wraps, bags, jewellery) in the wardrobe already?

Carmenere · 19/03/2008 20:38

Carmenere · 19/03/2008 20:41

Well what I would do is to go into Monsoon and try a few on to see what shape suits you. And I think that these days you can wear a cocktail dress to a ball as long as it is quite dressy.
I'll dig out a few more options....

MrsBadger · 19/03/2008 20:55

what's the event? unless ultra-formal you'll find a lot of people in shorter dresses

Littlewoods is my secret weapon for budget party frocks
silver £60
excellent for concealing tum
good if you are short though may risk looking pg
bargainous
brown

consider also TKMaxx - they ofetn have v good evening dresses

JackieNo · 19/03/2008 20:55

Not full length, but maxi dress
ditto
This is nice

JackieNo · 19/03/2008 20:55

the event is graduating from college (me!) held at not so posh hotel ( snob emoticon) But the lecturer who gave me and my bezzy mate info said everyone wears long dresses !! so not sure what to do. ( and bezzy mates got great dress sense) just gonna look at jackieno... well love the 1st maxi dress and i have littlewoods account!!...how sppoky two people link same dress. Do you think purple will suit me ??? Will have to get some of thoses sukky in knickers to keep the bulges from escaping. Does tlmaxx have a website?? Went in there about 6 mago got stuck in the lift absolutely shit meself, not been back in !!

Carmenere that is very nice.. bit too clingy perhaps?? But nice , maybe i will order them both and see... Next question Hair?? Mid shoulder length Up or Down ?? ( could get hairdresser to put up ??)

OP posts:
angiebaby78 · 21/03/2008 16:18

Any one help me with the hair decision ???

OP posts:
JackieNo · 21/03/2008 16:21

I'd say up, just because it feels more as if you've gone to some effort. Especially if you can get the hairdresser to do it, or are very good at doing it yourself - then either big/striking earrings, or a big/striking necklace, but not both, I reckon.
