Growing out supposedly semi-permanent hair dye - pic attached for advice

I used to use a semi-permanent dye (claims to last up to 28 washes) to cover up the grey, but found over time that I needed to go lighter; what used to be close to my natural colour seemed to become too dark. I ended up using the lightest brown I could find, but after a while I realised it was making my hair orangey. I stopped using anything a couple of month ago, thinking it would fade away, but it hasn't, I'm having to grow it out which I'm a bit peeved about. Any tips on blending the two quite different colours I now have, given one's warm and one's cool?? I'm not sure what to do next!

My hair was like this. I ended up having some highlights / bleached bits put in so the regrowth was less obvious, then had a big haircut. Now I’m totally grey. People have been known to ask me where I get my colour done!!

Go to a hairdresser!

Could you have it all dyed to match the roots?
