What is this hairstyle? Does it have layers? Not sure what to ask for?

I currently have similar to this, but if it curls under I look like Hillary Clinton, too straight it looks very harsh etc etc. I’m sure it is just the styling for a photo, but maybe I am not asking for the right thing. Would this sort of cut have layers or is it blunt? Mine looks better a day old, when freshly washed there is too much fluff.

I'd say the first one is a blunt cut and the second one has layers.

The second one also looks like its been styled by putting some loose waves into it. Textured I think the term is.

It seems to be called a French bob on social media

Yes they are different. First one is all one length. Second one is tapered- longer at the front. How it looks will depend massively on your hair type too. The first picture the girl has quite fine hair. Means she needs a blunt cut with no layers for thickness. Second photo looks like she has thicker hair.
