Hello!
I never really learned about makeup, applied bare minimum (foundation, mascara and eyeshadow that I kind of daubed on). As I’m getting older I need more help to look put together, I’d also like to be able show up at events/work dos looking put together.
Where do I even start?
Lesson with makeup artist?
I don’t want to look like a drag queen or get fake eyelashes I just want to look like a unrednosed more groomed me.
help?

I'm 45 and I've moved to using Eborian CV cream on my skin. I use the palest one.

I then add eyebrow pencil, mascara and Stila cream blush.

Job done. With earrings and necklace and blow dry I look very presentable.

Would do lipstick too but I get sore lips from it.

Watch Wayne Goss on YouTube and Lisa Eldridge.

I had a lesson with a Bobbi Brown make-up artist once, best thing I did. They gave me a sheet of what they did with pictures, including the colours they used.

Thank you all!
I think I need a cream blush now and some kind of bronzer stick thing for contouring.
I have a bronze coloured eyeliner but need to sharpen it.

Yes, I was going to say Erica Taylor too. She’s entertaining as well.

Lipstick works well as cream blush.

I’m using laura geller stuff at the moment. The baked foundation works well- swirl a brush around.

Also came to say you can use a nude lipstick as cream blush. I use the No7 Hydraluminous which is a kind of tinted lip balm stick, so it goes on my lips and then I dab a bit on my upper cheekbones. Try it next time you’re passing a Boots, it’s usually on offer for under a tenner / part of a deal.

For videos, you may also enjoy watching Trinny on IG / FB etc - she does pretty good looks but of course it’s all using her products. She can be quite annoying to some, but I rather like her in small doses

For a free blusher you can pinch your cheeks! I'm not kidding. I do this instead of use blusher haha.

When my daughter got married and she and bridesmaids and me had their make up done, I learned a lot. It’s probably cheaper to pick tips up from the internet but If you can afford it, get a make up artist to come and do your make up a couple of different ways and recommend products to you. It’s a good way to get updated!
don’t be afraid to tell them what type of look you think you do/don’t like.

Following this as I'm in the same situation, I sadly can't get away with no make up anymore. Although reading the first few answers I feel even more overwhelmed. Maybe I need to go a department store and they tell me exactly what to buy and how to apply it so I can just reproduce it at home. I honestly have zero clue.
