Right, style mavens! I am going to a wedding in May and I haven't found a single nice dress in town. I need help!

I want to look quite funky, as my niece is the bride and I don't want to look like an auntie at a wedding.

Am 5ft 7.

Am size 12-14, though working on it.

Have a bit of a tummy, short legs, long back and chunky arms. Small but perky tits.

Need structure and a bit of fit and flare.

Oh, will be 34 by then , if that's any help.

Dress me!

GreatAuntieWurly · 19/03/2008 14:02

GreatAuntieWurly · 19/03/2008 14:02

this is nice

GreatAuntieWurly · 19/03/2008 14:06

or this one

Bobbiewickham · 19/03/2008 14:07

It is nice, but the colour is bad for me (am pasty) and the high waist will make my bum look like it is dragging on the ground.

Budget not a prob. Will draw line at hundreds, but prepared to shell out to look nice.

Oh, I tried the green one on on Friday.

14 a bit big, but suspect 12 will be too small (they didn't have one)

May do as fall back.

Twiglett · 19/03/2008 14:09

the one in OP on this thread

Bobbiewickham · 19/03/2008 14:11

It's lovely but I don't do glittery.

I know I am impossible.

There is a fantastic Marni look alike dress right now in Jigsaw - linen/silk mix, white with navy flowers, hides tummy completely and top of arms, great for small breasts. £129.

Bobbiewickham · 19/03/2008 14:13

Ooh, like the sound of that.

Will dash after work.

Any more for any more?

Twiglett · 19/03/2008 14:17

this one?

Bobbiewickham · 19/03/2008 14:18

I can't do silky unless it is layered and I can't do floaty! Everything wobbles!

Am grateful, though.

You need my Jigsaw Marni look alike [stern emoticon]. Very body forgiving.

Unless your budget extends to Marni itself, in which case, leg over there NOW (I was at the Avenue Montaigne store yesterday afternoon and there were dozens of fabulous wedding / party outfits).

Bobbiewickham · 19/03/2008 14:24

I live up North. York.

Nobody's even heard of Marni.

Get fed up at limited choice of clothes shops.

But we have lovely old buildings

I live dahn sarf. London.

I've never heard of Marni

Anna8888 · 19/03/2008 14:29

We have lovely old buildings in Paris too BobbieWickham - AND gorgeous clothes shops.

But if you have a local Jigsaw that's something - better than many MNers.

Anna8888 · 19/03/2008 14:31

Twig - you need to do a little bit less selfless free childminding and read a few more magazines
