Occasion dress for 5 weeks pp

Thinking ahead here as I'm only 16 weeks pregnant, but I'll be attending a wedding at approximately 5 weeks post partum (with my partner and baby). I don't have to go but I really want to as it's my first chance to meet that particular circle of DP's good friends.

So, I want to look good!! I know I'll have a wobbly pp tummy, will be getting some shapewear, but any of you style gurus have any suggestions for style of dress that will be workable for breastfeeding but also make me look like a slim goddess? I basically want his friends to look at me and be all 'wow, I can't believe she just gave birth!' (Yes, I know that's unlikely, and I know I'll have more important things to care about...) Grin

Thanks in advance!

When is the wedding and what size /height /shape are you pre pregnancy?

Describe your pre pregnancy ideal wedding guest outfit.

It's in august, I'm around 5'9 and usually size 8-10, but I put on quite a lot of weight for my first pregnancy so I'm guessing that will happen again! I don't really have a 'style' and am pretty clueless..I'd probably usually go for something floaty and feminine, I love florals and bright colours, perhaps that showed a bit of leg...not sure if any of that is useful Grin

Thanks so much, love some of those but way way over budget! I'll be on Mat leave and amidst an expensive house extension so would only spend a couple of hundred. You've given me some inspo though!

Harvey Nick's has some Alémais dresses in their sale which take them to just over a couple of hundred.

I found separates much much easier at that point. Easier to get to fit, easier to breastfeed in and just as dressed up if you coordinate well.

I wore a maternity dress for almost the exact same time frame post partum. It had a shirred bust (could pull it down to breastfeed) and floaty sleeves, felt really comfortable and it hung away from my stomach. Bought my usual size.
