Handbags, backpacks, totes and style

I now own two backpacks, a small one for when I don’t have as much to carry around and a medium one for when I do (mainly at work). I have never had a backpack before and have always been a tote person. However, it did get annoying carrying everything around in a tote bag, especially with shopping too. I still use my small cross body bag for essentials as I don’t want to take my backpack off every time I need my cards, keys and bus pass.

My question is, what about when it comes to style and feeling feminine?. I’d love to have a nice leather handbag or clutch bag and fancy tote but it doesn’t seem practical. I know the backpack and cross body bag is far more practical and it suits me now but somehow I don’t feel stylish and feel like I am off for a hike every day.

Does anyone else feel like this?

Depends on the back pack and crossbody.

What types are you currently using?

Maybe switch them out for something cuter? Prettier? Etc.

Hi, they are both Kipling because I like the brand and have had a Kipling cross body bag for years now.

I’ve got a few Kipling, I love the backpack. Cannot remember the name ?citypack

I want a nice roomy tote bag with a zip and decent handles. I ve got a square Kipling but the handles are annoyingly short. I have to wear it on the crook of my arm .

Bellroy Tokyo Tote Pack is a backpack and tote, whether it's stylish or not I don't know

Peak Design also do beautiful bags, Everyday Totepack is one I really love the look of.

I like bags.
It seems the modern bags are all a bit unisex though, very few I'd call feminine unless you go for something more classically handbag style perhaps

I have a small pouch for my backpack with essentials in. I wouldn't be able to manage backpack and small cross body bag. Some backpacks have accessible zippers that mean you don't have to go into them to get a pass. I have my phone on a lanyard so can't be grabbed out of my hand in the street when not put away.

And vital for me , not leather .
