An oil based cleansing balm like Emma Hardie Moringa is the gold standard for hard to remove eye makeup but I also find the Garnier oil infused Micellar water useful when short on time

BodyShop Camomile Balm massaged in and a warm water muslin cloth .
DD likes their Camomile Eye Make Up remover liquid

I use this. I really like oil to milk cleansers.

Nivea Waterproof Eye makeup Remover
Anything you can tolerate around your eyes - ideally low % retinol in a gel cream formula
For a cheap thrill Inkey List caffeine eye cream is great.

BiliousOhGod · 12/01/2024 19:36

I find the Elf cleansing balm very good for the price, and it gets Benefit mascara off. For dedicated eye makeup removal, Gatineau Floracil is excellent.

lechatnoir · 12/01/2024 19:38

Good old micellar water for eye makeup- I use the garnier one and won't ever bother spending £££ on make up remover again.

Grumpsy · 12/01/2024 19:40

Clinique take the day off - that stuff could get rid of everything - eye cream I love Estée Lauder night repair

ScribeSev · 12/01/2024 19:40

Nivea double effect

I apply it to a large cotton pad and just hold it fir a few seconds over my eyes to melt the mascara

I never rub it

Then I gently wipe the rest away

CorneliaStreet · 12/01/2024 19:48

Farmacy Green Clean is the best cleansing balm I’ve tried, gets all make up off with no effort. The Inkey List oat cleansing balm is a good, cheaper alternative.

Another vote for Garnier Miscellar water. Takes waterproofing mascara off pretty easily.

Darklane · 12/01/2024 20:26

I’ve used this for years, really good & very cheap

Johnson's Baby Shampoo.

MissMarplesGoddaughter · 12/01/2024 20:28

Another vote for Clinique eye make up remover. It melts eye make up off, so you never have to scrub or rub.

AnxiousPangolin · 12/01/2024 20:29

I use Simple Micellar Water for eye makeup removal. It’s cheap as chips and does a good job.

TheFormidableMrsC · 12/01/2024 20:29

Garnier Micellar water is fab and cheap as chips in places like Home Bargains. For eye cream I rate Clinique All About Eyes and Charlotte Tilbury Magic Eye Cream. Both spendy but last ages and are very good.

HardcoreLadyType · 12/01/2024 20:30

Steam Cream cleanser

Dailymauifan · 12/01/2024 20:35

Baby oil, everything comes off easily, no rubbing, moisturises the skin, and very cheap. But don't whatever you do, try baby lotion, it stings something awful 😩

Steam Cream cleanser

Ohh I bought a tin of Steam Cream (bargain in Tesco) I loved the tin. The cream though was way too lavender ( cannot abide lavender !) I had to use it on my feet as at least it was too far away for me to smell.

soundsys · 12/01/2024 20:49

Another vote for good old micellar water.

For eye cream it's got to be snail slime 🤣🐌 I like Mizon.

ScribeSev · 13/01/2024 01:19

Micellar water doesn't work for me because I have to rub my eyes with it so I have to use my Nivea first

skysmumm · 13/01/2024 01:36

Another one for the garnier! I use this, you give it a shake first and it melts eye make up off in seconds without rubbing hard. It's £4 on look fantastic just now.

After that I use the inkey list oat cleansing balm and that gets face make up off so quick without scrubbing too. Thats about £10.

I would have died if anyone told me to use oils or balms but my skins never been better. I think I was damaging my skin barrier with harsh exfoliation and using make up wipes!

I use oil on my eyes at night instead of a cream and it's working good. Currently using Charlotte tilbury collagen superfusion. Pricey but a little goes a long way

mrssunshinexxx · 13/01/2024 07:27

@skysmumm do you only put it round your eyes or a little all over your face ?
Thanks everyone going to research the eye creams
Will start with garnier for eye removal
