in search of a camel coat..

I found myself in a rabbit hole of capsule wardrobes last night and I think I probably 'need' a camel, belted, coat. According to what I've been reading lately, I ought to do a lot of research, and take my time. However, the sales are on!! I'm a bit of an impulse buyer, with research, which means that I decide what I'm after and then spend 24 hours googling constantly till I find it.

I don't want to drive myself mad this time, but would love to know if anyone has seen any really fantastic camel (prefer belted but not essential), coats, not too long, (I'm 5'3"), that are on sale and worth buying now rather than spending time researching. Budget is about £200 although happy if it is less (or maybe slightly more depending on meeting criteria).

Thank you!

I've been looking for a camel coat too. I'm looking for a long one though. I think I saw some shorter ones in Reiss and Hobbs - both brands I rate for coats.
Things I'm looking for are good cut, length, high wool content.

I’m 5ft1 and have Hobbs petite single breasted camel coat. They also do a longer belted one. One I have is one of their classics and have it every year in different colours. I would like to get another one - the same as it’s a perfect fit but this seasons their camel colour is of slightly darker shade and is bit keen on it. Keeping my eyes peeled on eBay for the old colour to pop up.🤞🏻

Thank you for your suggestions so far!

I know I said belted, but I've just seen this on Reiss, although out of stock in my size, love it..

(can't work out how to link, Reiss Amie Wool Blend coat.)

I have a long version of the Ted Baker one @DailyCake posted (it would be too long for you). Same fabric, colour.

It's DIVINE, I highly recommend you look at the one posted. So soft. Looks like it cost a fortune. Lovely details. A soft, neutral camel tone, not too dark or yellowy.

Do you know for sure if camel suits you? I have olive skin, but I'm cool toned and a camel coat made me look jaundiced.

I am a deep winter palette in winter as my skin gets paler. When I have a tan I could get away with deep autumn palette. As it was a winter camel coat I was too pale and wintery for it.
At the time I didn't know my colouring season and just assumed being an olive brunette camel would automatically suit me..i was very disappointed as it was an expensive coat that I had to chase as was out of stock in most branches and I was also keeping a minimalist wardrobe at the time.

This is a good page explaining this:

The Best Camel Coats for Your Skin Tone

No one can deny that a camel coat is classic, elegant, and timeless. It's one of those colors that can instantly elevate an outfit and this clothing item frequently makes the list of the top

Someone has posted in this section asking where to sell one Wink

Next Brands have some nice ones. I tried a Love & Roses recently which was about £90 and quite long.

I didn't end up keeping it because whilst it looked nice open I'm still too overweight for a long belted coat and it looked like a lumpy dressing gown when fastened. I couldn't justify a winter coat I wasn't prepared to fasten.

If you are taller and more slender than me it would probably look great.

@ilovepineapplesreally i like that Reiss one. Reiss is stocked on lots of other sites so it's worth checking JL, Next, BrandAlley etc for the coat in your size.
