Are Lululemon leggings as good as everyone says?

They've got a good sale on but if I can get an Amazon dupe instead it would probably be even cheaper. I want them mainly for walking and travelling, not serious exercise.

I don't know who "everyone" is.

Lululemon are expensive for good/average performance. I expect some Amazon brands would easily match performance, but it's hard to tell which.

If it's VFM you're after, then try Decathlon - much of their stuff is as good/better.

Honestly yes. I finally caved a year ago and got the high waisted align and oh my god, they’re amazing. I wear them everyday. So stretchy and soft. They dry so quickly so I wash them overnight and wear them again the next day. They’re thick enough that you can’t see your underwear. But I think what makes them so popular is their cut- they’re just soooo flattering! Makes your legs longer and waist thinner. They never roll/slide down unlike other leggings I have so I’m never constantly adjusting myself. I really want a second pair but will wait until my first pair is no longer wearable.

Dianalouise · 10/01/2024 12:36

They used to be…I’ve lululemon clothes from 12 years ago that I still wear regularly and are in great shape. The newer stuff I have bought is not so hard wearing. Especially anything made from Nulu (?) feels lovely and buttery soft but it not hard wearing and very thin.

eyeslikebutterflies · 10/01/2024 12:38

I got some free a few years ago - I'd never have spent that much on a pair of leggings. But omg. The fit!

I struggle with leggings as have a small waist / big bum, and almost all 'edge' down and I'm constantly hoiking them back up. Not with Lululemon. They manage to fit like a glove without being super tight. No idea how they do it but yes, I'd recommend them on that basis. Have also worn and worn them and they aren't wearing out or bobbling etc. - have also not experienced that with previous leggings.

Falkenburg · 10/01/2024 12:39

Quality suddenly disappeared and they are no longer the same.

Oysho are far better

Candleabra · 10/01/2024 12:39

I’m very pleased with mine. They’ve made all my other leggings seem shit.
Agree they are incredibly flattering, no camel toe, no rolls at waist. I honestly look loads better. They’re new so can’t comment on how hard wearing they are. They’ve washed fine so far.

VesperLind · 10/01/2024 12:39

The kit is ok but IME the after sales service is terrible. I had to chase them for six weeks to get money back and only then after resorting to twitter. I wouldn’t buy from them again. Also, sizing is mad. You can buy six items all the same size and all will differ wildly, even in the same style.

heyhohello · 10/01/2024 12:46

Dunno. But I can tell you 2XU running tights are seriously good. I have got pairs I have had for years and they are still going strong. No seams split or anything like that. They have pockets too. 🙂

useitorlose · 10/01/2024 12:46

I like my Sweaty Betty leggings way more than my lululemon ones.

Peasnbeans · 10/01/2024 12:49

How do they compare to Sweaty Betty? I love my SB, lasting for ages but not tried LL.

AvoSourdough · 10/01/2024 12:55

Mine are from years ago so can't comment on the current ones but no other leggings compare to the fit and feel. Sweaty Betty are also good but I still prefer lululemon. I've tried lots of other brands and Amazon dupes but they absolutely do not compare.

AuntieStella · 10/01/2024 12:58

SweatyBetty and Lululemon are pretty similar really.

Both overpriced for performance and average/typical for fit.

SherlocksDeerstalker · 10/01/2024 13:04

No, not these days. As a PP, I have lulu’s that are 13 years old that are still fantastic. My newer pairs looked like shit within months- bobbled, bagging and generally not fit for anything but sleeping in which I don’t expect for £70! Ive had about 10 pairs, and when I was in the market in January for a new pair of leggings I went to Marksies and I reach for them the most often. I don’t think I’ll be buying any more Lulus.

doubleshotcappuccino · 10/01/2024 13:16

Would second @Falkenburg .. Oysho are far better .. then in second place Sweaty B.. Lululemons are over rated

Vetoncall · 10/01/2024 13:19

I have 15+ pairs of Lululemon leggings, some are over 10 years old and the most recent I bought on sale in December. I haven't noticed a major deterioration in quality, and in terms of fit and flattering nothing else comes close for me. I train every day and coach CrossFit in my spare time and pretty much live in leggings outside of work. I don't buy the Aligns though or any of the really soft material yoga styles, they do bobble and stretch more. I buy the more hard wearing, compressive workout/running styles - mostly Wunder Train, All The Right Places and Invigorate.

GavinHendersonsChipPan · 10/01/2024 13:20

No, they aren’t.

lululemon and sweaty Betty’s quality are comparable to the £15-20 offerings on Amazon. They probably come out of exactly the same factory.

I like lululemon’s outerwear, accessories and sweatshirts but the leggings are not worth it.

i get these. They are great.

I like SB leggings personally but I still think they're really overpriced (even on sale). I mainly wear M&S or one of the Amazon dupes (is it CRZ?) but I don't tend to do very intense exercise/tend to exercise at home so I can pull them up if needed and it doesn't matter if they're see through on a squat or whatever

Going out on a limb here but I think fabletics are better. Just cancel your membership once you've ordered.
