I want tights that dig in on the waist

Please recommend some, I'm sick of falling down tights or rolling down tights because they have a soft waistband and I wasted my money on Snag which fell down after a few washes, m&s all sorts including the control tops etc. Please give me your best digger ins.

Snag dug into me - I binned them because of that! Gave me the most awful profile under dresses. And a sore stomach!!

Have you tried these? I'm not usually a tights fan as I hate pulling them up all the time but bought these before Christmas and never have to pull them up. Seem quite ladder resistant too which is a bonus..

I use Tu secret shaper tights. Never had an issue.

Haveallthesongsbeenwritten · 09/01/2024 21:26

M&s all the way. I buy the 3 packs for £8. Never rolled down on me

Upsadiddles · 09/01/2024 21:27

I’ve never found a pair that don’t roll down, but a second pair of knickers over the top is a game changer.

ChatterMonkey · 09/01/2024 21:27

Have you tried buying a smaller size?

NatalieWould · 09/01/2024 21:37

Heist are really good. Pricey but worth it! I have the 80 denier high waisted opaque and they’re great. I got the warmer ones but they rolled down and Heist gave me store credit which was good.
Or try control/slimming ones which have a good hold. I’ve bought John Lewis own or M&S body shapers I think they’re called.
The Pretty Polly control range were good but they are discontinued I think. Heist are a good replacement.
I’ve definitely tried a lot!

Have you tried buying a smaller size?

Or a larger size. That's where I had rolling down issues.

FusionChefGeoff · 09/01/2024 22:20

Second larger size - mine roll down when they're too small.

PeanutAndBanana · 09/01/2024 22:25

Heist are supremely comfortable and don't roll down. But for the price they don't last as long as I'd hoped. Mine have ladders after a few months. I don't wear tights that often so that was disappointing.

FreezyFord · 09/01/2024 22:30

John Lewis - order big. Mine come up to my bra, no bumps

TeaToastIsAll · 09/01/2024 22:32

I second knickers on the top

RosesAndHellebores · 09/01/2024 22:34

Like others I only had problems when I.put on weight and kept buying the same size. When I went up a size they were perfect.

I find snag really comfy. M&S are fine too, especially now I've lost two stone.

noooooooo · 09/01/2024 22:38

Have you tried consuming 15,000 extra calories in the last fortnight? It’s worked amazingly well for me, pants and bra are also welting me nicely.

FreezyFord · 09/01/2024 22:39

@noo 😂

tempnameforadvice · 09/01/2024 22:40

@noooooooo yes same, I highly recommend it to ensure your bra and pants area still look like you're wearing them when naked despite having removed them several hours ago. Like magic.

43ontherocksporfavor · 09/01/2024 22:42

Next ultimate comfort opaques don’t fall down. Don’t dig in either though.

SaltyGod · 09/01/2024 22:42

John Lewis Velvet Touch dig in, to the point where I think twice before I wear them. They absolutely don’t fall down.

I third black pants over tights. One of my favourite mumsnet tips from more than 5 years ago. Been doing it ever since. Comfortable, effective, also smooths over (some) of the bumps and lumps.

I fail to understand how 3 ultra tight layers round your crotch can be comfy.

EVHead · 10/01/2024 07:08

Are you washing them with fabric conditioner? That might make them slip down.

INeedABrewPlease · 10/01/2024 07:51

Primark Body Shaper tights are the best tights I have ever worn. They pull up over the stomach, suck me in, and stay up all day. I’ve washed and washed them and they have remained in perfect condition. Only £5 a pair too.

Towelrail · 10/01/2024 07:52

Primark or George shaper tights.
