BB/CC/Foundation for 15 year old girl?

I don’t wear a lot of make-up myself and am not up to date with modern styles and trends. I used to just bung on a bit of concealer and tinted moisturiser, then got totally befuddled when they started selling BB and CC cream instead and eventually settled on Trinny’s BFF for myself, which suits me really well.

Dd is 15 and wears a bit of make up when going out with her friends etc. Until now she has been happy with a bit of concealer, maybe some blusher and eye make-up (which I have to admit she does beautifully) but a lot of the girls wear full foundation and she feels like her skin doesn’t look good enough alongside theirs. She does get some spots and has a ‘bumpy’ forehead, rather than actual spots, iyswim.

I suggested she tries something lighter than full foundation to begin with, before going for full coverage, but have no clue which brands/products might be best or if there is such a thing as a lightweight foundation that will give good coverage without blocking her pores and causing more spots.

I would really appreciate some advice, as it’s her birthday soon and she wants to go shopping for make-up. I had great advice on here about buying the basics when she wanted to start trying eye shadow and concealer etc, so I’m hoping the lovely MN Style & Beauty folk will come up trumps for me again.

TIA

Many foundations now are a sheer/light coverage. A decent cheap one is the Collection Lasting Perfection Glow foundation.

I've recently discovered Avon bb cream and like it a lot. There are a couple of kinds and very reasonable price. You can order online if you don't have a rep.

DD adores the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser, I agree with her - best one I’ve ever tried. She hates foundation or anything very high coverage/cakey so suits her really well. It’s really light, you can barely feel it on your face and doesn’t cause acne. She’s been using it since she was 16, now 19 and can’t see her stopping any time soon!

Thank you, I will look up all of your suggestions with dd.

I highly recommend Nars Tinted moisturiser, very light and not cakey at all
