Seasalt no stock til July! Alternative?

I’m looking for a knee length warm raincoat that ideally doesn’t make me look like a sack of potatoes! I was considering the seasalt plant hunter after some positive reviews on here. But I’m 5f2 and so need it in a petite (size 10) and it’s out of stock at the moment and according to their customer service it won’t be back in stock until July! Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives in a similar price range eg ideally no more than £150?

Their Janelle coat is very similar, slightly longer, but just as cosy and waterproof. There are a few black ones left in your size, but no other colours.

There is a dark blue one on ebay at the moment. It's in the Seasalt outlet

Didricksons and Ilse Jacobsen are good alternatives to Seasalt. Or Vinted!

Lurker2019 · 08/01/2024 15:41

Is that different to a "Plant Hunter 2"?

I googled plant hunter from nosiness to see what it looks like and found a site selling plant hunter 2 in size 10 in at least 3 colours

Site is Harts of Stur which I have never heard of so am not recommending it as such, just saying it exists.

But I know nothing about fashion... I clicked this thread thinking it referred to a sudden, inexplicable, shortage of sea salt!!! 😳

GrumpyMoose · 08/01/2024 15:46

Im 5ft2 and wear regular. Do you really need it in petite?

fitflopqueen · 08/01/2024 15:53

Harts of Stur is genuine, bought a kitchen aid online from them

Lurker2019 · 08/01/2024 15:55

Oops I missed the reference to height and read petite as just small i.e. size 10 Told you I have no clue and wandered into this section by mistake!

But if you do decide to chose regular size, the Plant Hunter 2s are £109 on that website I mentioned.

ETA yes @fitflopqueen I looked them up after I wrote that and they (Harts of Stur) seem loved on Trustpilot.

Was also going to ask this. I have this coat and I'm 5ft5. It falls around 3 inches above my knee at the front (the back is longer).

I've got this one and so pleased with it, it's waterproof wind proof and warm.

Shellingbynight · 08/01/2024 15:59

Have you tried on a Regular? I have the Plant Hunter and I'm 5'3 and find the Regular is perfect.

muddyford · 08/01/2024 16:00

Lands End Squall coat. Look at their sale. Or look on eBay for Seasalt clearance.

dontgobaconmyheart · 08/01/2024 16:15

I'd check their official ebay outlet, or just ebay in general.

Quinque · 08/01/2024 16:26

I've just bought a Plant hunter from Harts of Stur. It came quite quickly with DPD, and was £109 with free postage, £51 cheaper than the Seasalt website.

I have bought many kitchen items from Hart of Stur and so far they have not let me down.

Love mine too, so comfortable as well!

SlightlygrumpyBettyswaitress · 08/01/2024 16:53

If OP is like me, it's not only the length of the coat, but the length of the arms that dictate a petite fit.

nicky2512 · 08/01/2024 16:57

I bought my Janelle from Harts of Stur. Can def recommend them.
You could also look at Lighthouse.

Well obviously i meant the arms too.

GrumpyMoose · 08/01/2024 17:02

It might be to do with limbs lenth..i have a short torso, inside leg seam 30 inch at 5ft2. I suppose if you have a long torso with short legs that would make sense re petite sleeves.

I'm 5'4 and the sleeves of the last Seasalt coat I tried in regular sizes finished at my fingertips 😭

I bought a Joules coat, instead.

Branleuse · 08/01/2024 18:02

try vinted.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 08/01/2024 18:19

I have the Plant Hunter, it's amazing. Have you looked on different sites? Lots of other places stock Seasalt these days.

Cthmta · 08/01/2024 18:35

Thanks very much everyone, especially for the eBay outlet tip - managed to get one from there!
