Phase Eight Sandrine dress for a wedding ?

belgiumchocolates · 06/01/2024 19:13

Sorry I can't get the photo to upload.

It's called 'Sandrine' buttermilk with yellow flowers and bit of greenery.
Is it too white to wear as a wedding guest.
Nephew getting married in June, venue looks quite formal.
I'm tying to find a nice quality dress on a budget as the cost is racking up with accomodation, gift and travel etc
I am size 14 and 5ft 2

The dress is lovely, very summery. I bought a lovely dress for a wedding and purchased the accessories from Shein, I had loads of lovely comments about my shoes and matching bag. Give them a try, it keeps the costs down 😬

Duh · 06/01/2024 19:35

I think it’s lovely but personally I’d say it’s too white for a wedding

AreolaGrande · 06/01/2024 19:45

Is this it OP?

Too white for a wedding imo if so.

Only on mn do people take a flowery dress and decide it’s too white. The etiquette is no plain white/cream and not a dress that looks like a wedding dress. A nice flowery dress is fine and that dress is lovely.

If you have to ask, generally, it’s too white.

Are there no other dresses in any of the other colours that you could choose? Just a general question.

DramaAlpaca · 06/01/2024 19:50

That dress is perfect for a summer wedding. All it needs is accessories in green or maybe yellow. It's certainly not too white for a wedding.

Orangello · 06/01/2024 19:52

it's fine, nothing like a wedding dress.

belgiumchocolates · 06/01/2024 19:52

I've seen it for £35 in my size

I also really like Dani floral pleated midi dress phase eight as well but £139

I really like the Dani dress - and looks like it's now £89!

Purplecatshopaholic · 06/01/2024 20:05

That is a lovely dress op. It is not too white, it is not too bride-like, it is fine! Only on MN have I heard such a ridiculous question.

SirChenjins · 06/01/2024 20:07

Not too white and nothing like a wedding dress - you’re perfectly safe if you go for it!

It’s nothing like a wedding dress and not even plain white. Great for a wedding guest in Spring/Summer.

pilates · 06/01/2024 20:40

Stunning 🤩 love it

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 06/01/2024 20:46

Phase Eight say "it's perfect for wedding season" . I take that to mean for guests although I could see a bride who didn't want a one off meringue wearing it too. It's not too white.

Sandrine dress

Sandrine Floral Wrap Tie Dress |

Perfect for wedding season, this fresh floral design is cut in a contemporary shape for a relaxed take on occasion wear. It is fully lined, and fastens with a concealed zip.

@belgiumchocolates I have the Dani in petite fit and it's fab. It fells so glam and I got a lot of compliments.
The Sandrine is also gorgeous and perfect for a wedding guest

belgiumchocolates · 06/01/2024 20:52

Thanks everyone. I think I'll order the Sandrine with fingers crossed it suits me.

I'll look for some reasonable priced green accessories, my favourite colour 😁

Is this the Dani?

Dani dress

It's all subjective but I don't like it at all - much prefer the Sandrine.

I was looking at this

It's the same style but different pattern. The Dani seems to come in lots of different patterns. Sorry, I don't like that one either.

The Sandrine is much nicer

Bluearrivabus · 06/01/2024 21:06

It’s perfect!

MinervatheGreat · 06/01/2024 21:07

The Sandrine is lovely. A really nice summery dress.

For the benefit of those who are concerned about the etiquette, if you stand back a bit in wedding pics or not right next to the bride, no one is going to be offended about your attire.

You’ll look really elegant.
