Blemish face wash/cream recommendations - in my 40s :(

In the last year or so I seem to have become spotty. It's really starting to get me down. It's mostly on my lower cheeks and jawline, which from googling looks like it's most likely hormonal rather than anything I'm doing/not doing lifestyle wise. I'm pretty healthy in terms of diet and exercise levels. Perhaps an early sign of peri-menopause?

I have fairly sensitive skin so tend to stick to Simple and similar products. I do tend to use a gentle scrub though - either St Ives or Amie.

Does anyone have any other recommendations for preventing or minimising spots for a woman in her 40s?

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo cream was my savour when my skin went haywire in my late 30s - I believe it’s due to the niacinamide in it. I used it as a serum and followed with a moisturiser or argan oil, but it can be used as if it’s a moisturiser.

It also has salicylic acid in it which is also good for spots, but I can’t use it in toner form as it’s too much for my skin.

I second the La Roche Posay Effeckare range.

salicylic acid is the ingredient you want.

I would stop your scrub and switch to a bha by Paula's choice.

Thank you all, I’ll take a look at these suggestions.

My combination skin can be sensitive - I'd recommend these:

Bioderma micellar water
Cerave hydrating cleanser
Farmacy deep sweep BHA toner (this has salicylic acid)
Byoma gel moisturiser
