shoes that don't fit

I wondered if anyone has shoes a bit too big for them - is there anything you can get to make them a bit smaller? I remember years ago I tried these sticky plaster type things you put in the heal but it didn't make any difference. I'm asking as i have seen some shoes I love but the 7's are too tight and the 8's too big - i love them though and was hoping there was some way I could get the 8's and make them fit! Thanks for any tips.

innersoles?

pukkapatch · 16/03/2008 21:49

no. there is no way.
if leather, you could get the smaller ones, and damage your feet till they stretch the leather to fit. but i wouldnt recommend it.
look around different shops. most places do the same styles, so you should be able to find something somewhere

I had some shoes which were half a size too big. I got around it by putting a half-innersole in the toe.

I didn't want to hear that No way I am going to make my feet worse than they already are and the 7's were too painful. I hate having inbetweeny feet! Pukka - why wouldn't insoles work?

x post paddington - so a half insole does work?

I think insoles would work. But bear in mind they will get slightly bigger with time.

Maidamess · 16/03/2008 21:57

The shoes, not the insoles.

i can see i might just have to look elsewhere - i saw them and really wanted them though

of course you can find something to pad them out with, insoles, stick things to inner heel etc. but if they don't fit you properly (which is how it sounds) then you will be in pain.

bettybeetroot · 16/03/2008 22:59

the 8's don't fit as they're too big rather than style or shape if that's what you mean so i doubt they'd be painful

I have some lovely shoes that are 1 size too big. The insoles and sticky bit at the back didn't work. I was going to see if i could find a cobbler that could make them smaller. Can this not be done?

Sticky silicone pads or strips could help too.

paddingtonbear1 · 17/03/2008 20:59

betty yes the half insole did work for me. they were half size too big rather than a whole size though. Without the insole they just slipped off at the heel! But the next size down were too tight. I have wide feet so often have to go a size bigger!
