Anyone help with a bag for my sister please?

My sister has a big birthday coming up and I'd love to get her a beautiful bag. I don't have a huge budget - about £200, but that's all I have so that's that. I see some beautiful bags on here but they're just too far out of my price range. I think she would like black or brown and it would need to be a reasonable size because she carries the kitchen sink around with her. 😁 Any suggestions please? She's my best friend as well as my sister and never buys herself anything.

If you go onto the John Lewis site and put in parameters for handbags under 200GBP there are lots of options. Brands like Radley, Coach, Ralph Lauren.

It's sale season now, so you might get lucky and find a discount. What a nice sister you are!

DD bought me a Longchamp le pliage large shoulder bag for Christmas which I love because it was so unexpected

I bloody love it because it's been so useful already.

&OtherStories always have up to date, minimal and cool real leather bags - normally in the £80 - £150 price range.

What about doing the Rika lucky dip( there’s a thread about it with guidance) and then maybe spend the rest of the money on a new purse, small makeup bag and that kind of thing.

On The other hand I adore my Longchamp le Plaige bags!

I’m really loving Polène at the moment. Most of their range is in the £300+ category, but they have a few options around the £220 mark.

I love the Polene ones above. I also love the Mansur Gavriel mini bucket bag (which isn't that small) and in the sale it almost comes into budget - available in burgundy/dark green - www.mansurgavriel.com/products/mini-bucket-claret-1.

Otherwise agree with PPs that filtering John Lewis would find you something nice and classic from a decent brand or & Other stories/Cos for a more Scandi vibe. And the Net a Porter sale/Outnet might find you a bargain.

Have a look at Kate Spade- I have a couple of totes from there that I love (and carry the kitchen sink in). They’re about £400 for the current season- BUT if you check the sale and also the outlet section on the website, they are within your budget.

If she’s going to be using it for work, I’m currently eyeing up Lawfull bags- again around the £200 mark. They look like they would make my kitchen sink carrying so much more organised!!!

I’ve got a medium and a large. Sadly I don’t use them both as much as I should! The medium is leather and the large is a mixture of nylon (?) and leather bits.

There's a Spanish brand called Aldofo Dominguez that I discovered on a thread here which has some really lovely interesting looking bags! Some styles are very Polene-esque. They have a sale on right now so you could see what they have in your budget. I've just bought two bags I've been coveting... a mini crossbody and rucksack Blush

I saw them on a trip to Barcelona a few years back and sadly didn’t go in (no time with relatives sightseeing). I was very tempted by them and thought they were more expensive than they are.

These bags are gorgeous, even the leather ones are reasonable in the sale. And the leather should be impeccable quality as it’s Spanish. I also think with these bags that they’ll probably grow in popularity so be a good investment piece.

I think it’ll be a toss up between AD and Polene for my next naice bag purchase (don’t need though have enough naice bags!).
