How to use retinol and peel ?

Im 43 in January, never had a proper skincare routine, just blessed with good genes that make me look 7-10yrs younger. Age is definitely catching up now. Skin under my eyes feels very delicate and I have dark circles, pigmentation, fine wrinkles on my forehead and around my mouth. People tell me I need retinol. How do I start using it?

Also, should I start with a chemical peel (ordinary)?

I do use the ordinary peel. I started off using it for just 5 mins one morning a week (it stings until you build up a tolerance) I then went up an extra min each week until having it on the maximum 10 mins twice a week. I do now only do it once a week though but, be warned, you need to wear a good spf. I forgot one-overcast day and was out in the afternoon for an hour on a lock down walk. My face must have burned, it didn’t look red but even the hot water in the shower stung and then sun spots developed!

I also use their Retinoid, have previously used their retinol but Retinoid more effective. I don’t use that the same night that I’ve done the peel. I just use it every other night and, once it’s sunk in, use my moisturiser on top.
