Where do you buy your socks?

Basically my very full Christmas present to myself is replacing all my worn out socks. However I want to get some good ones which will last. I used to get them from M&S, but I feel their quality has really gone down lately!

I wear boots a lot in winter so ideally I’d like some cute but comfy boot socks!

Seasalt are good, also Happy Socks. I am so fed up with cheap chain store socks that either instantly develop holes, or lose all elasticity at the top and so constantly fall down. How hard can it be to make decent socks?!

I bought some proper wool ones from Pairs which I saw on Instagram. They are so good. A bit longer than some which is good under boots. They sent a free pair of lovely bed socks as well

For summer I get bamboo diabetic socks off Amazon

In winter I've got Bridgedales and the like with wool in them

I've got a few pairs of long socks I wear with knee high boots and dresses but could do with some warmer ones but can't be too thick

I'm looking at the Goat socks now so would you say they are very thick ,?

The standard ones are not excessively thick, no. I wear them in shoes and boots that I wear ordinary socks in. They might do styles with ribs that are thicker.

pairs socks are the best so comfortable and never had cold feet now x

Dog walking socks, also great for working from home when it's cold are usually Bridgedale.
Regular socks, I used to buy M&S but agree the quality doesn't seem to be great. I can't bear socks with straggly cotton ends inside, makes me cringe when I put them on.
I like BAM clothes generally but haven't tried the socks yet.

Winter socks. Primark! I know I know, but they have wool mix socks, which have lasted years for me. (if they still stock them) No holes and look as good as new.

Usually from our local factory seconds shop or Asda but have just ordered some Seasalt ones in their sale and son is going to buy me them for Christmas.

Sock Shop Gentle Grip. Reasonably priced, good range of colours/patterns and so comfy. And no, they don't fall down! You can sometime get them at TK Maxx too.

I've got big feet though, so I always buy men's. I don't know if this makes a difference.

I've had great boot socks from
Sainsbury's, but my best ones have been from Darn Tough and Smart Wool.

I wear danish endurance socks with boots in the winter. They are warm and hard wearing.

I've given up on Darn Tough as they always shrink despite me washing them correctly and never tumble drying

I don't understand all the love for BAM. I find them rubbish, they wear through into holes so quickly

Seasalt sailor socks are brilliant, they are thin but warm and very comfortable if you don’t want something too bulky. I wear mine with brogues.

Uniqlo. Good thickness, come up quite high (not knee boot height but mid calf), last ages, and so many colours.

I mostly wear bridgedales of various types now - thin ones which can be worn alone or as liners, merino with walking boots and some medium weight artificial fibre ones which are very comfortable.

Thought clothing bamboo socks are my favourites. Not cheap though.
