I couldn't pin on one but I've had some AMAZING things from the charity shop this year !

North Face fluffy zip up - £7
Joules quilted gilet - £5
New look puff sleeved midi dress - 50p
New look mom jeans - 50p

Basically a full wardrobe for my new baby (H&M, M&S, Zara, next, joules etc for 25p a piece (amazing local YMCA)

Vexxa · 17/12/2023 20:23

A maternity/babywearing gilet by Seraphine that I wore throughout pregnancy and beyond.

StoneWallandRoses · 17/12/2023 21:16

A 100% cashmere soft as air cardigan bought for £3.50. It had a small hole on the elbow and the buttons aren't fashionable at all, but I couldn't believe my eyes when I came across it.

All I need during the icy bitter weather is this lightweight little cardi and the cold does not come through. Marvellous.

A near new, immaculate Cambridge company leather handmade satchel for about £15. It was just what I was looking for. Vinted.

I've had a lot of success with charity shops and Vinted but these two stand out off the top of my head.

Eastie77Returns · 17/12/2023 21:26

After posting on here about my struggles to find outfits for a relatives funeral (strict colour code - not Black) a Mnetter sent me links to a few items on Vinted. I managed to buy 3 x outfits and shoes for myself and 2 DC for around £50 total. All new with tags or very good condition.

Gorgeous faux fur coat for £20 on Vinted. It is one of the warmest I’ve ever worn and I’ve had dozens of compliments since buying it.

Similar to a previous PP, bought a Cambridge satchel for £15

Salacia · 17/12/2023 21:27

A Hope and Ivy cardigan that I’d seen online but could in no way justify the price for 7 quid in a charity shop. And a black leather furla tote bag for 15 quid on Vinted.

dressedforcomfort · 17/12/2023 21:29

My best one was a gorgeous, camel coloured, chunky cardi (White Stuff) NWT for a tenner. I have worn it everywhere!

Britpopbaby · 17/12/2023 21:53

@Eastie77Returns @StoneWallandRoses £15 must be the going rate for pre loved Cambridge Satchels as that’s how much I paid last year for my preloved one ina charity shop!

Two other bits stand out and both from the same shop in the same place and both hand made which is a lovely floral top and also a short dress. In a different t shop but the same place I also picked up a St Michael shirt dress which I love!

Loake Brogues - £35, should have been nearer £300. Local hospice charity shop.

Seasalt parka - £30 - should have been £170 ish. Vinted.

Both in excellent condition.

FusionChefGeoff · 17/12/2023 22:30

My new 'thing' for 2023 has been finding something lovely in a charity shop whcih didn't quite fit then tracking it down, in the right size, on Vinted!!

Got a lovely summer playsuit and also my Xmas Day jumpsuit that way.

Soccermumamir · 18/12/2023 06:57

Bought ds (17) a brand new Zavetti coat, with tags, for under £60 off Vinted. Best bargain this year. I've bought loads of other items that I love as well 😊

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 18/12/2023 07:02

£10 Maxmara coat.

Mairzydotes · 18/12/2023 07:05

These aren't bargains of the century , but they are what I was looking for. A Next linen top for £1.50 to replace one I had in a different size. A Mountain Warehouse fleece for £6 , like I had been looking at in the shop. This was Ebay.

Britpopbaby · 18/12/2023 07:40

@Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies tell us more!

Lands end 100% cashmere roll neck which is immaculate for a tenner
brand new Reiss leather mini skirt for £30

Jins · 18/12/2023 08:08

Hotter closed toe mules £4
Radley cross body bag £4.99
Canvas DM ankle boots in immaculate condition £15
Unworn Teva sandals for DH £6.99
Killtech waterproof and windproof coat £9.99
Hotter tourist sandals and brogues, virtually new, £10 the pair

These are just charity shop finds. I’ve had a bit of a self imposed ban on Vinted this year and tried to keep to selling but I did pick up a genuine Mulberry Phoebe on eBay for £65 way back in January

NutellaNut · 18/12/2023 08:29

Lots of nice charity shops around my area! Just a few of my best finds this year…

A beautiful Gerard Darel coat (£500-£600 at John Lewis) for £10
A Citizen eco drive watch worth £200 plus for £3
A gold Rotary watch worth £200 plus also for £3
A Jigsaw wool blazer and matching skirt worth about £350 for £15

And many more besides!

allmycats · 18/12/2023 11:36

cashmere short sleeve jumper by m and s autograph range, new @ £7 from rspca shop just last week.

CointreauVersial · 18/12/2023 11:55

I have lost count of the bargains, as I live in an area with very nice charity shops. Some from the last few months:

Brand new with tags Damsel in a Dress red lace dress - currently retails for c.£150, cost £7.50.

Wyse cashmere jumper - just needed a wash and a good de-bobble - £5

Brand new, boxed, Kit Heath solid silver pendant - £10

Also picked up a delicate gold-coloured bracelet set with small stones, which was slung on the rack with the costume jewellery, for £3. I thought it was pretty, and the stones were nicely set. Turned out to be solid 9K gold.

Lastexmouse · 18/12/2023 12:12

From charity shops:

A pale grey joules cardigan that looked as good as new for £6.

A summer skirt from New Look of all places. Really good quality, high percentage cotton. About £5.

MmePoppySeedDefage · 18/12/2023 19:11

Paul Smith from Vinted:
Black leather boots, unworn, £49,
Silk blouse, good as new, £15
Black fine wool blazer, unworn but horribly crumpled, £35

Plus a 1950s fake fur coat from a vintage shop in a great shape, which I love. I replaced the silly buttons with ones I got in Paris. The buttons cost ⅔ the price of the coat. And a boy's Hackett navy fine wool blazer £35 from Oxfam. Age 14, it fits me perfectly.

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 18/12/2023 20:55

All from charity shops
An Autograph, like new, very plain, very soft black leather, no collar 3/4 length jacket and fitted perfectly for £20
M&S made in England cashmere roll neck for £7
Tod's black tote bag for £6
Kupittaan Kulta gold and silver pendant for £6

Garlicnaan · 18/12/2023 21:12

A silk designer blouse in immaculate condition on Vinted for £2. Probably cost 100 x that originally!
