Is this Barbour Beadnell Navy or Black? Am I colourblind?

A bit of long shot but anyone recently bought Barbour Beadnell jacket in Navy Blue and the colour is literally black or very dark navy, literally like black?

I had this coat in 2021 but sold it and regretted so I ordered one this week and it just arrived but it seems much much darker than the one I had two years ago.

I checked all the labels, all the codes, it says Navy on all of them ( inside lining is navy, collar is black too- should be navy blue)
I ordered two sizes, both are the same dark colours, so it’s not like I got sent some faulty item ..
I even contacted Barbour if they recently updated or changed their colour, they said not as they are aware..
I wonder if anyone else got this coat lately..

Get something black to put against it, you’ll see it then.

First thought was navy so probably navy but I could probably then peer at it and drive myself demented trying to work out if it is black or navy.

It must be really dark navy, but I agree that it looks black or almost black to me!

I don't suit that shade but do suit a lighter navy / dark royal blue, so I'd probably be returning that one

I have this jacket and I bought it thinking it was navy. I later bought a hood in navy and the linings didn't match. It turns out that my jacket is in fact black. I seems obvious now when I look at it.

I have this jacket in navy and from what I remember they do lighten up a lot over time. They just need to be worn, neglected, chucked in the back of the car and battered about a bit. Mine looked just like that a few years ago when I first got it. 😀

I've got a black jumper and a dark navy one. I can't tell them apart under LED lights, I have to take them to the window, if it's daylight.

@peoplearepeople but I had this exact jacket in navy from brand new and it was visibly navy blue.
I managed to dig out an old pic.
I spoke to a Barbour sales adviser today in my nearest shop over the phone and she said that it is impossible to get two same navy jackets as some are literally near black and some are very light navy blue.
I find it hard to believe I thought if they sell one colour for example in Navy, then it has to be navy.
How it could be in three or four different shades of navy?
She said some are midnight blue and some are light navy.
But this particular coat comes in black, navy, sage and olive, nothing between.
How I’m supposed to buy a matching hood if they sell 4 different shades of navy?

its just very dark midnight navy.

I got one for Christmas from my husband and yes, it definitely looks more black than navy. The only reason I know it is “navy’ is because of the lining colour. The lining on the black jacket is in purple shades.

How much approx is this coat / jacket? Is it completely waterproof and is it warm?

@CityCommuter its £229 official but you can get it cheaper in various online shops. I paid £130.
Its not warm, not waterproof fully, just showerproof I read.

@CityCommuter I got one with birthday. Only in November, and also the optional hood and zip in liner. It's been warm and dry enough for me since, in Yorkshire, where it has been very stormy now for a good month.
