shes 5’2

12 on the top 14 on bottom - she has quite a protruding tummy which she wants to cover.

maxi or maxi
no sleeveless

it’s for a dinner but dress shouldn’t be too flashy

tight budget of £80 or less

Not much to go on there.

What sort of thing does she like?
What's the venue/event?

In that price range for a dressy dress I'd look at something on Heritage. I don't like sequins and shiny things and whilst these are cotton the colours are beautiful. The Nala green and blue dress is jewel like, and very dressy. The full skirts mean a 12 on top will be fine.

Or this dress which has featured on other threads. Again the full skirt will be fine in her smaller top size, and the jewel like colour makes it dressy.

Agree with PP, not enough to go on
No point us suggesting something from Cos if she prefers feminine florals rather than scandi architect. What sort of colours does she like/not like? Do you want to shop online or in person? Fabrics preferred/to avoid?

I like Scandi Architect and feminine florals!

Within that budget Cos, Joannie and the sites I linked to would be my starting places. All have natural fabrics, clothes that are a bit different from everywhere else and can be easily dressed up or dressed down so are good value for money.

HIGH-NECK GATHERED MIDI DRESS

HIGH-NECK GATHERED MIDI DRESS: This striking dress is a modern take on partywear. Made from smooth stretch-jersey in a zesty neon-green hue, it has a figure-hugging fit with snug long sleeves and ruching through the sides to highlight the silhouette. K...

Sorry she 71

something a little dressier than the cos ones maybe with a little sparkle

no revealing necklines unless she can wear a vest underneath such a v neck and not clingy on the bottom half

Have you looked at popsy dresses. Some lovely glittery dresses, not too glam, but lovely and lots of different cuts and styles to suit all shapes and sizes.

I can't speak for others, but the missing information wasn't her age.

I'm 7 years younger than her. I wear Cos. I don't wear Roman originals.
