Dry shampoo v wash and blow dry

My hair needs washing every other day but I really like giving it a rest (especially if I am not leaving the house). However, how damaging is dry shampoo? They seem to vary a lot and I have a medium priced one but have also bought a cheap one. I only uses it occasionally but my hair is thin and fine so want to protect what I have left in the best way I can.

I use dry shampoo every other day, how could it be more damaging than heat?

Thanks, it’s just that my hair felt like straw. Also, I dont know how much to spray in and how long to leave before brushing. I’ve read somewhere that you can wrap your hair in a towel after you’ve sprayed it but that could leave me looking more like Worzel Gummidge!

You might need to try a few different dry shampoo to find one that works for your hair texture.

I love the living proof one, it's not a serious powder like batiste and works well but imo it's too expensive for regular use.

You can also just dry shampoo the roots and put more moisture into the ends if that's what you need.

I used to be able to go 3 or 4 days without washing, now it's every other day if I want to look even remotely respectable. I've started to wash pretty much every day and feel so much better but it is just a rough dry rather than styling with lots of heat and tension.
