How to look good in cold weather?

This is possibly an bit of an odd, winter specific problem! Every morning, I do my hair and make-up and feel like I leave the house looking presentable. Within 5 mins, I have a nose that would rival Rudolph's, my hair looks a mess and even my eyes look at bit red.

I've taken to wearing a hat or ear muffs, which helps with the hair, but I'm so fed up with feeling like some sort of frozen gnome in winter. I really suffer with the cold and have a really heavy duty (not particularly attractive) coat. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there anything else I can do?!

Thermals. There are nice thin ones, like the M&S ones.

I often wish we still had the black silk masks, fashionable in Stuart era England for gentlewomen during winter. (Apparently winters in the 17th century were particularly harsh.)

I second @DustyLee123

I wear thin but very warm long sleeved thermal t-shirts underneath sweaters. When working from home without heating, I wear ski thermals under my jeans. Ski socks and flat boots,

Then my top layer can be a tidy blazer and scarf or similar.

I have wool berets, knitted headbands and sheepskin gloves too.
