Fabulous tinted moisturizer / BB cream

I'm 50, don't use foundation as it feels too heavy but think I look better with just a little evening out of my skin.

I have bought a few from superdrug but they seem to look yellow on me or accentuate my pores. I'm cool toned, pink-ish (controlled with soolantra).

I used to happily use an M&S Autograph BB cream in 'cool' but it's been discontinued.

Happy to splash out on something fabulous.

TIA

I've just bought this after a recommendation on another thread. It's great, just evens out my blotchy skin without looking 'made up'.

Me too. It's fab, wear it every day for work or whenever I want to look a bit healthier but not overly made up. Rare for me to buy second tubes of anything for this face but I do love this 😊

As a PP suggested - Chantacaille tinted moisturiser is fantastic. I cannot recommend it more highly. I think I probably recommend it on here every month or so!

Can you go to a Space NK? If so, you could ask someone to colour match you with a few brands and they will give you tester pots with enough to try each product for a coupe of days. Really helps to work out which product works best for you over a normal day in your life and not just immediately after application in the shop.

Boots have sold out of Nude Eborian!

L’Oréal Paris lovers - how do you find the colours? Descriptions are not overly helpful.

Agree, in person colour checking would be helpful! No Space NK easily visitable sadly.

La Roche Posay. Oddly though I need the medium, even though I'm very fair. Tried the light one but this made me look like a ghost.

Oh, it’s back now. Got a small (15ml) tube on click and collect this week 👍

Ah, I use non tinted LRP and really like it. I couldn’t get the right shade in tinted though!

Bare minerals complexion rescue

For those who have mentioned redness Rosalique is absolutely amazing.

mikado1 · 10/12/2023 22:07

It cosmetics nude glow cc I really like. Have three colours for different times of the year etc. V natural and glowy.

PinkTonic · 10/12/2023 22:10

I love Guinot Hydra Finish

loobylou10 · 10/12/2023 22:13

Estée Lauder day wear. It's fab

Did you try the toleriane tinted moisturiser?
The one I'm talking about is Hydraphase HA BB Cream, might look different?

Soccermumamir · 11/12/2023 06:58

Just turned 40 but been using BB cream for years now.
I love L'Oréal BB cream. It comes out white, but as soon as it hits your skin it changes to the colour of your pigment. It's light and small amount goes a long way.

I love this one! Onto my second tube now 😊

This is the one I use. Love it!

Lifestooshort71 · 11/12/2023 07:30

I use Trinny London BFF (gives an amazing glow) and, as suggested above, add a couple of drops of my current foundation to it before I apply. You can then up the coverage if necessary or change the shade in the summer. One pump of the BFF is a lot though so probably use half of one. Looking at the number of recommendations on here shows what a personal choice good skin coverage is.

Wimbledonmum1985 · 11/12/2023 07:38

I love Sculpted by Aimee as well - the colour isn’t quite right for me though so I mix it with the Beauty Pie tint thing in the silver tube and my skin looks fab.

itsgoingtobeabumpyride · 11/12/2023 07:52

I've just bought Charlotte Tilbury Healthy Glow all year hydrating summer tint moisturiser.
It's about £39 but there's 20% off online and in store.
It's fab, it comes out grey but blends into your own skin tone, I'm absolutely amazed.
It looks great, not heavy, it gives me a healthy glow.
They have concessions in big department stores, if there's one near you the staff will put it on your face, no charge

friendlyflicka · 11/12/2023 08:46

After using Laura Mercier and Nars which are both very good, I now us the cc ByTerry in Sunny Flash. Brilliant for olive skins which need warming up in winter.

Tried Erborian and it didn't look natural at all - far too orange

Neversaygoodbye · 11/12/2023 09:06

Wayne Goss just did a video on youtube of his best foundations for 2023. There were a couple of lightweight tinted moisturisers he recommended, off the top of my head one was Laura Mercier and the other Rose Inc. There were more so worth a look.
I am pale with pink tones and have both the erborian bb in nude and cc in clair - the cc can look a bit orange but if I apply it very thinly it seems to work ok and the bb I would say is slightly more coverage and a better shade match, I use it more for "going out". However, I tempted to try some others that Wayne Goss recommended.

Chewbecca · 10/12/2023 19:59

I love your description- just what I want. How do you find the shades? I would choose Clair but one reviewer said it makes them look orange?

I bought erborian bb concealer from their own website and you could choose samples to try. So I bought the colour I thought was right but got some tiny sachets of different colours and also the CC concealer. In the end I had chosen the wrong colour so could swap.

meganorks · 06/03/2025 21:56

Also I use erborian green cc which I find great for me as I tend to get red quite easily! Lasts ages too.

FlappingMadly · 07/03/2025 08:18

Estee Lauder Daywear. Don't forget sunscreen whatever you use.

LovelyJubly12 · 07/03/2025 08:24

HundredMilesAnHour · 10/12/2023 12:27

Have a look at Erborian BB cream. I'm 53 and it does wonderful things for my skin making it look fantastic but completely natural. I won't use anything else now. Amazing stuff!!

(I'm less of a fan of their CC cream as the colours just don't work for me).

How do you know which colour to go for though?
