It's thigh length and not appropriate for tights, too sheer and bit too short. Can you wear them over jeans/trews or is that far too 2007?!

Agree with MotherFunk - thick tights which hold your legs together and boots - stand tall and enjoy the feminity of the dress with strong legs.

I'm wearing a shortish smock dress today, with thick tights and boots - a good look (well, my partner appreciates it ).

That's one good thing about this freezing weather - thick tights (that slightly contain the thighs) are still good to wear.
It's the shedding of thick tights and boots that I dread!
