Help me put together a travel outfit

I’m flying to South America in March and I don’t want to fly in jeans (too uncomfortable) or sweatpants (I was with Karl on this).

I have to wear comfortable shoes so I was thinking a pair of Sambas, but beyond that, how do I look nice but comfortable? Not cold while leaving and not too hot on arrival?

I always go to the airport in my jeans, fleece, nice scarf, and trainers. I then change into lightweight cotton/linen trousers when I arrive at the airport and switch my shoes (smart pumps). I prefer loose cotton/linen trousers as I always wear flight socks for long haul.

Plane outfit would be:
cotton/linen trousers
flight socks
vest top
nice cardigan
nice scarf
smart pumps
fleece (in case of fierce aircon)

I keep my jeans in my carry on luggage (I've only had my hold luggage delayed once and was grateful to have a spare outfit). I also keep a bikini in my hand luggage (as swimwear can be tricky to replace).

I flew to India from Dublin recently and wore wide leg pants navy - m&s; navy boat neck boden tshirt; tan long cardi & white Adidas stan smiths - it worked in cold st home and in heat there.

Just to add I wouldn’t wear jeans long haul as I don’t think they are comfy enough. I brought extra cashmere socks in hand luggage which I used if that helps. X

For long haul I usually go for a soft jersey maxi skirt, plain black t-shirt, denim jacket and trainers.

Soft socks in my bag for on the flight. A jumper and a pashmina in case it's cold on board.

If it's cold at your point of departure, tights easily go under a skirt and come off before you board.
