What shoes/boots for this dress?

I have bought this dress for a Christmas night out, and I'm looking for advice on what shoes/boots to wear with it. I was planning to wear black sandals but it's forecast to rain and I'll be getting the train, so I was thinking sandals might not be the best choice. I've been looking at boots but can't decide which style might look best and I don't really want to order a bunch to try. Thanks!

Pointy toe, stilleto shoe boot?

Agree on low ankle boot - would also try on/think about flat ankle boots. My cut out dress is a summer one but it looks better with flat sandals rather than heels for some reason.

I was thinking about flat boots, actually. Maybe smart Chelsea boots. I have some but they're a bit scruffy. I like the shoes the model is wearing but not very practical in the rain, and I'm not sure I could last all night in the heels.

I'll maybe go to the shops on Saturday and try some on.
