Yay or Nay on this (chocolate satin shirt)

I bought this from M&S in chocolate brown and can't decide if I like it or not! I need something for wearing out to dinners, etc. i.e. out, but not 'out out'. I'm late 40s, size 10, if that makes any difference. I'd wear this with wide legged jeans or, possibly, a pair of bright pink wide leg trousers. Tucked in.

Too staid/ office-wear?

I like the shirt but not a fan of the white buttons, I'd have to replace them with brown ones

No - polyester, and it has a flimsy, cheap look. Not a big fan!

I don't like it but I don't like satin , real or polyester anyway.

It's a "non- garment'. It serves the purpose of covering your top half but beyond that it does nothing.

I like it, I have a similar shirt from there in both white and grey and find them useful. Chocolate brown is also on trend this year. But if you're not sure if you like it, send it back. You probably won't wear it if you're not feeling confident about it. I wear mine with mini skirts or leather trousers the most. I'm not sure the pink trousers would work - you might look like a big neapolitan ice cream.

Yes, my fear. A bit nothing-y

I find 'going out tops' the hardest thing to buy. They're either too blingy (sparkly, etc) or too frilly or whatever...

Lols at the ice cream! I'd just need a cream jacket

Yeah, I'm on the fence about satin too. It has the whiff of Pat Butcher about it
