What shoes with a red velvet jumpsuit?

Hoping the hive mind can help me here. Office Christmas party is coming up, will be quite dressy (think posh drinks and canapes) so I'm going to wear a lovely backless red velvet jumpsuit.
But what shoes should I wear? I have horrible wide feet with stumpy troll-like toes so open-toed strappy gold numbers, which would be the obvious choice, are an absolute no. And I'm afraid a pedicure won't help, much as I'd love one - I have lovely fungal nails so no technician worth her salt will touch 'em.
Ideally I'd like a closed toe shoe, although a peep-toe would be just about okay. They also have to be a wide fitting, but still classy.
God, I sound GLAM don't I??

Does the right kind of shoe exist? I do have a pair of pointy-toed green stilettos, but the combo is a bit...Elf.

Help!

I also have a red velvet jumpsuit that comes out this time of year. I wear them with champagne gold pointy toed heels. I think your green stilettos would look great too.

Having tried various shoes with it I have learned to avoid anything black or anything with a round toe. As my DD quite rightly pointed out they make it look too much like a Santa outfit!

Thanks @Middleagedmeangirls . I did last wear the jumpsuit with black boots (round toe) and only realised my mistake after I'd left the house.
