What shoes with this dress help please?

I'm due to go out on my works Christmas party on Friday. On a whim last night I bought this dress online. I'm now struggling to think what sort of shoe could go with it. Please help! I don't need an exact shoe but some examples of styles please as I'll only have one opportunity to go shopping for an hour on Wednesday.

We've got an activity booked (darts club or something) and then a walk across town for food. I imagine drinks will follow in a bar somewhere after.

I don't want sandals (despite me owning a pair of gorgeous glittery ones!) because a) it's forecast to get really cold, b) the walk across town never suits sandal wear at my age, and c) I think I'll be standing or walking most of the night. Don't mind a small heel but want to feel comfy on my feet.

In this weather? I'd go with a shoe boot, or an ankle boot with a small delicate heel.

Clear or black tights? I did think ankle boot but I've never been too sure how they might look with a dress - gaping edges where my ankles swim around.. black tights would make that less obvious but not sure if black would underwhelm the dress

You could wear patterned tights, there are loads around. I’ve got dotted ones and diamond pattern ones a bit like fishnets but nicer.

Yeah I have to be careful with my skinny ankles poking out of ankle boots, but some are kinder than others. I'd def go darker/thick patterned if that's the case. I love a good knee boot for this reason with a nice pair of patterned knee socks over tights so they're not so gaping, but can get hot! I sympathise.
