Giant spot on lip day before 30th birthday - HELP

Denimdenimdenim · 26/11/2023 09:22

I usually have very clear skin and a HUGE painful spot has appeared on my lip. It's so obvious.

We have a special day planned tomorrow and I'm absolutely gutted (I know it's not the end of the world.)

Does anyone have any tips, remedies or product recommendations to help it go down quickly?

I have very fair, sensitive, Irish skin.

Get to tesco/boots and buy spot patches, they absorb all the yuck and take the swelling down! My spots disappear overnight using them. Drink plenty of water today

Caroline hirons had a guide to getting rid of a spot. I think it was using a cloth soaked in hot water (not super hot) against it without rubbing it, then put some facial oil on it at regular intervals to draw it to the surface. Then I’d go with a spot patch overnight!

Take some ibuprofen.. hold a warm cloth on it for 10 minutes a few times a day. Put some mild spot cream on it (containing salicylic acid or 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, or just sudocrem if you don’t have those things). Then stick a spot sticker on it over night. Tomorrow put some primer and concealer on it and then forget about it as nobody else will notice it .. good luck (and ps don’t pick it..)

Thanks everyone! I'm popping to town in a little bit and will try to find everything suggested.

Absolutely typical isn't it.

The urge not to pick is excruciating...

Sod’s Law in action!

If it’s painful try a dispersible aspirin dissolved in a tiny amount of water and dabbed on with a cotton bud - this will draw it. It’s essentially salicylic acid in pure form. If it then breaks and bleeds, surgical spirit will dry it and prevent it spreading, try not to get it on your lips cos it’ll dry them too.

for future disasters I can recommend this. Looks mental on but does the job. https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjWw4SMw-GCAxV7mmgJHUXnDCYYABAPGgJ3Zg&gclid=CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFn4b8njxbZ-xJOlcJS9SAWNdJM-rj9jzvGZfWxoU4f2gV-B9cXH5TBoCp78QAvD_BwE&sph=&ohost=www.google.co.uk&cid=CAES5wHg9mU_paSwoEb45G7N3lIZgVFCXFsXjzMG9Q1fiN_1KQOAZXx-fe5Pe3eZexkfcgr9PWF5b2NR5ZB1ueXa5iam2pJQ_qDuKmKhYVxK696pC3k51e84BpPXyf_kl7yOxehMKzNgCSvIXrki9h_1ZdWIZubyGmtf1eOL7FlHspRrL-yxbrkGkt9e65c8UyhmSoJn9P16ShuyiPMYwqxViTahxjVn_DEGA6oCFEwouKx3g_XVTI2V6gXELUgcWwiVVwSWzuBo_HyTSSMcgQwnSbtfLA9Ihxvtxmzq9gd6a2cBa7bS-yVZo0Q&sig=AOD64_2NiH4dyr5fC7vu9ToJZwTYtkrPbA&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwj3-PyLw-GCAxXMgP0HHXesA8EQwg8oAHoECAUQNQ&adurl=

To cover it, removes flakes with a damp cotton bud, then a thick yellow tone concealer, then dot with a lot of loose powder just on the spot not around, and blend the edges.
