I can't stop looking at them! I have light brown eyes with green flecks but can't work out which colour would be good - or none as I'm mid 50s and don't want to look muttony.
Please someone help me with your thoughts 🤷‍♀️

Firstly, stop it with the 'muttony'. I'm older than you and I really love VB makeup, the quality is excellent, it goes on beautifully and it stays put.

I'm not familiar with the lid lustre stuff, but I just looked it up and it looks good.

I use the satin kajal. My eyes are a mixture of dark green and brown and I love the grey, olive, silver and green shades.

You're right, I don't know why I made the mutton comment! I think I've started to feel not quite right in certain clothes/make up which is fine as I embrace being middle aged. It's about feeling comfortable in myself.
Anyway! Everything you've said is helpful, thanks.
Has anyone else used lid lustre and loves it/ felt underwhelmed?

Yes, I agree it can be hard finding or adjusting your style as you get older. I'm taking the attitude that if I like something and I think it looks good on me I should wear it - and I'm enjoying experimenting with fashion and makeup again in my late 50s (and getting compliments, which is both surprising and nice!)

Back to the VB stuff, I like the cream formula on my eyes because it goes on smoothly and doesn't crease. These days it works much better for me than the cheaper brands I used to use.

Trying one last bump! No one tried it?!

I bought some yesterday in BF. Mink and Velvet. I'll report back 👍

I went to and fro all day but also ordered really late last night - mink, chiffon and tea rose. So hard to choose!

I have a few. They're quite gittery (some more
than others) and wear them or evenings rather than day time. The ones you'll like depend on your colouring and the amount of impact you want to achieve.

The liners are good and can be smudged over the eye and the eye sticks are very good too. Caramel is a good neutral brown which will suit most skin tones.

My absolute favourite eyeshadow is Suqqu which you can find on the Selfridges website.
Their quads (usually) have a good mix of matte, satin and a shimmer topper if you want to
achieve a more glittery look.

Also really fantastic are the Tom Ford quads which are in the creme formula (rose topaz is my favourite and quite neutral). Some Tom Ford isn't great but the crème formula is like the Suqqu. Really easy to blend on older eyelids like mine.

Sorry op I was typing and overlapped with your response. You’ve picked some good colours. Hope you love them.

BlackSwan · 28/11/2023 14:46

They dry out in the pot v quickly.

Kaftankween · 28/11/2023 17:11

I haven’t found they dry out. Keep the little black stopper under the lid in place. Don’t discard.
