Revlon Flex shampoo and conditioner

For those older ones amongst us gather round. I've just been to Home Bargains and couldn't believe my eyes as they had umpteen bottles of these on the shelves AND.....<drumroll>

they smell exactly the same as the 1970s/80s ones. I was sniffing way and transported back to my youth in an instant.

If only Vidal Sassoon ones would reappear and Wella Lifetex Balsam..I would be a happy woman

I still love it but sadly it makes my scalp does not it gives me bad scalp issues

It’s not called Flex and the bottles are different but look out for big bottles of Revlon shampoo. The bar code scanned as Flex and that was good enough for me.

Vidal Sassoon isn’t back in it’s entirety but wash and go is. It’s in a green bottle labelled wash and go (not Vidal Sassoon) and costs £1. The smell isn’t the same but it works as I remember it

Oh goodness, I haven't thought of this shampoo in AGES and that's brought it rushing back! I thought I was SO SOPHISTICATED using VS products. Loved Flex too and that felt very American especially with my Constance Carroll roll on cherry lip gloss but the VS was a whole other level of cool....

I buy them regularly here in Australia. The smell is amazing!

how big is the bottle op?

my mil bought us a load of cleaning products/toiletries from Home and Bargain ( how we say it in Liverpool) and there was a huge bottle of Revlon shampoo and a huge bottle of conditioner but they don’t say Flex on them and they smell different, nice different.

This is what I bought from HB yesterday. It doesn’t actually say Flex though.

Good enough for me. It smells close enough to my memory of Flex and it works as well as I remember it. It’s over 20 years since I used it and memories of a scent aren’t always accurate but I’m happy

I posted about this a couple of months ago. It was relaunched. Absolutely divine!

Ok these are mine! I’m so torn about whether or not it is the same smell i remember. I’m 45 now so it’s been a long time since I used it originally.

I was in HB yesterday, wish I'd seen this first! I'll go on a mission to find it next week. No shampoo has ever smelled as good.

This is the one that caught my eye. Conditioner is still 'custardy' and the smell to me is the same

I very clearly remember 7-year-old me noticing my friend's hair smelled lovely, asking her which shampoo and conditioner she used, and the rest is history.

For our nostalgia, folks:

Me and my best friend Joanne used to go into town on a Saturday. We spent most of our time in Boots, not buying anything except she would buy Revlon Flex. Our whole Saturday spent just buying shampoo, and we were happy with that!

Same here. Before we were old enough to be allowed to go to London on the tube we'd spend Sat in Ealing Broadway in Boots and a walk round Bentalls. I'd have a damn good spray of Anais Anais before we left 😂

On a wet day we'd make a cup of tea (50p?) last an hour in Wimpy, people watching through the window, before heading back home.

Me too!!! I also used the Vidal Sassoon shampoo and the smell from that was brilliant as well.

It's one of those threads where you hope that someone somewhere in marketing for that company will bring up this topic= old school classics, and the manufacturing office will have the process plans from yesteryear to hand.
