Boden Abigail dress

The Boden Abigail dress is significantly reduced in the Black Friday sales. Looks like it could be a winner for office days.

I know it's been in the range for a while, does anyone have it and have any thoughts on fit, quality, prints, whether it's actually as good as I think it could be...?

Is it not just the amelie dress with long sleeves?

I'd look pregnant in the Abigail dress.
It's fine if you don't have a belly.
Jersey does not suit as it clings.

That looks like the clingiest fabric. Even the model looks like shit.

I've got similar and it's a really weird fit on me even though I went up a size.

It's the waist - just sits at a really unflattering place.

It’s deeply unflattering on me too. Sleeves too tight and a uniquely mumsy cut that advertises my penchant for chocolate eclairs.
Avoid unless you are 5 foot 10 and slim as a rake.

I have the dress in a different print. Looked lovely when I was a slim size 12 but not so good now I'm a 16!

It didn't work on me (5 foot 1 and skinny) - but I also hate artificial fibres. I returned it.

The long version just has a couple of inches at the hem. Absolutely no extra length in sleeves or bodice. The waist band was across my bust.
The fabric is cheap and nasty. Boden , I predict is going to go out of business . The designs might be better than supermarket standard but the fabrics are poorer quality.

I've had previous seasons' Abigail dresses, which I liked. The current one has significantly thinner material, really poor quality. I sent it back.

I ordered the Jessie and Laura dresses and was very disappointed by the fabric - cheap, thin, scratchy

I agree with PP- I’d be amazed if Boden is still in business in a couple of years. I ordered a dress in the recent ‘relaunch’ after a couple if years off. It was really poor quality. And of course they didn’t publish my review!

That is massively unflattering!

The plain ones look ok on the model. The printed ones are hideous.

And as someone who is 5'10 and reasonably slim, I can tell you from experience this style looks shit on me too! The proportions are all wrong. The waist is way too high, and combined with the thin stretchy material, it looks like your boobs slump about a cm above your waist. And even the Long fit dangles unflatteringly above my knees.
It's like the designers took my body shape and wondered how best to make me cry😆

it is such a shame that the reviews are so bad, because I like it.

My only issue is that it is too short. I am tall and I only do knee length.

I had one in this style and a couple in the short sleeve version, but I think they look really dated now (in fact I donated them to the charity shop on my last clear out).

I work in a team with lots of men who still wear a suit and tie to work every day. Dated fits in perfectly 😆

As a 60 year old woman, I thought I would have a look at it.

I wouldn’t wear it.
Too short. Clingy fabric. A neckline designed to show a bra strap. A waist you will have to pull back down every time you get up.

I used to buy quite a lot of Boden. Shame.

It's just more tedious, unimaginative ageism.

Oh my eyes! That’s horrible. There are no redeeming features to that dress.
