Well, dream-ish. Quick (and relevant) back story, I have ruined my once lovely, thick, hair.
I did write out all of the gory details but this post is already super long winded but essentially, as a result of bleach related disaster which I am now several months on from, I have hair in all different lengths. It is especially short on the top layer and around my face; it reaches about down to my nose/ears all around my head. Underneath that short layer, my hair is now just past shoulder length.
The texture of my hair is fine in terms of strand, and fairly thick in terms of volume. In its natural state it is fairly dry and frizzy/wavy.
One big problem is the difference between my "top" and "bottom" halves of hair is softened when my hair is in its natural wave, But I can no longer straighten my hair as the bottom half is noticeably thinner, and if straight the top layer just kind of sits on top of the longer hair like a shelf 😓
It's all in all pretty devastating. I am resigned to the years of growth it will take to have long hair again, but in the mean time, I can't go on any longer with this embarrassing mess of a hairstyle. I've literally not been able to do anything with it for months as the breakage was so short that it was completely unstyleable.
I need to start considering getting an actual style for my hair instead of just growing it out straight to long. I have always fancied a pretty, coquettish, A line bob with no layers that kind of swoops over my eyes on one side. But I'm really struggling for hair-spiration examples to show a hairdresser... and I'm really worried that the layers are still too short to be blended in well with the rest of the hair.
Any ideas?? Either for what to ask for, people with similar hairstyles that I could use a a reference? General tips for not looking so dowdy and shite while I get through this terrible follicular period?
