I thought something like this would be easy to find but i've only seen these. which i do like, but i don't love the colour and for £70 i need to love them. pref in green / brown / grey definitely not black or navy.

i want something comfy and casual and a bit slouchy, but a step away from pull on joggers / yoga pants etc . anyone seen anything that fits the bill?

The Fatface ones are not quite 'jersey' though, but I see what you mean. You might be hard pushed to find a fabric as soft as stretchy jersey with a traditional fly fastening, even formal trousers are going with elastic waists now - and I hate them!

Maybe have a look at the trousers at White Company, a similar-ish price range and a few softer colours (although mostly grey, cream, black).

Or these dark green button-fly jersey wide legs from Hush.
A slightly more expensive pair in dark grey here.
Dark blue wide legs with zipper at white stuff.

It's tricky to get a structured waistband to work with a fabric that has as much stretch as jersey. For example denim/corduroy are ok as they tend to have only a little bit of stretch. With jersey, you would end up with a waistband that is tight at the start of the day, and baggy by the end.

I hate the elastic waists too, I find they bunch up on the back/ bum and look awful.
