Anyone bought and returned lingerie from John Lewis? Urgent query!

Urgent cos I’ve got items in my basket at online checkout that are low in stock! Basically 3 bras and a pair of Calvin Klein (ie expensive!) knickers. If they don’t fit I thought I could return them and get a refund (obvs with tags intact plus receipt) but the terms and conditions on the app say lingerie is excluded. Have tried calling customer service but have no faith in the hesitant response I got so can anyone tell me from their own experience, pls?

I'm pretty sure you are not allowed even with tags on

Lovelynames123 · 16/11/2023 12:59

IME stores will never take back knickers, even with tags on. Some stores will accept refunds/exchanges on tagged bras, but in general lingerie/swimwear is non refundable

Deathbyfluffy · 16/11/2023 13:01

If the terms say lingerie is excluded, then that's that really.
I personally wouldn't trust other people to take care when trying this kind of thing on, so I can see why they don't accept returns.

DuploTrain · 16/11/2023 13:02

You can usually return bras I think? Just not knickers.

KrazyboutKillian · 16/11/2023 13:02

I’ve retuned bras and swimwear with no issue , but maybe the policy has changed ?

Happydaze2 · 16/11/2023 13:57

I’m steering clear, not worth the risk. Thanks all of you for the speedy replies 😊

You're never allowed to return underwear anywhere for obvious reasons

Chemenger · 16/11/2023 14:08

An assistant in John Lewis mentioned to me that knickers can’t be returned (she was helpfully telling me that their own brand sizing is quite generous). I’ve returned bras to M&S without difficulty that I had bought online.

Jk987 · 16/11/2023 14:10

I would not buy knickers that have been tried on by someone else!
How would we know unless there's a residue though 😷

Porridgeislife · 16/11/2023 14:11

You can definitely return bras, did that recently.

Pinkitydrinkity0 · 16/11/2023 14:14

I have def returned bras and shapewear to John Lewis and M&S before, which surprised me! I’m not sure if knickers are any different though.

Happydaze2 · 16/11/2023 16:43

I realised I have never wanted to or needed to return knickers anyway - think I was just in a panic buy tizz earlier and not thinking properly….! 🙄Of course no one (me included) would want to buy them if they thought someone else had tried them on!! As for bras - I have definitely returned some to M&S in the past but never bought any online from JL.
